Living Coral Is Taking Over Cosmetics 2019 & These Celebs Are Doing It Big
Forget bold red lips (sorry, Taylor), vampy purple lids, and flushed rosy cheeks: There’s only one color on our wish lists when it comes to makeup for 2019, and it just so happens to be the same shade that’s being heralded by the geniuses at Pantone as *the* color of the year.
Ladies, say hello to Living Coral: your one-stop shade for all things cosmetic. Described as a “vibrant yet mellow hue” by the bigwigs at Pantone, Living Color is the exact type of standout tint your glam routine could stand to get some serious oomph from: Think bright, popsicle-stained lip hues and pretty, peachy-pink blushes. In short? Living coral was practically made for giving our best face!
But don’t take our word for it. A-list celebs such as Rachel Brosnahan, Halsey, and Olivia Munn have all incorporated the pigment into their beauty routines in recent days, and they’re giving us some SERIOUS inspo: See for yourself below!
While the “Without Me” singer can — and has! — pulled off just about every color of the rainbow on the beauty front, the Grammy nominee’s playful shadowed take on the trending shade is uber-flattering. Girl is not afraid to take a risk, and it’s paying off big time.
The 2019 Golden Globe winner showed us just how marvelous (pun intended) Living Coral can be when she walked the carpet for the awards show on January 6 with a swipe of lipstick in the bright hue courtesy of Charlotte Tilbury. “We knew the lip had to be an orange or coral (nothing like the red she wears on the show) so we settled on Charlotte Tilbury’s Matte Revolution lipstick in Sexy Sienna,” the Marvelous Mrs. Maisel star’s makeup artist, Lisa Aharon, told The Hollywood Reporter of her client’s look. Not only did the touch of color complement the star’s yellow Prada gown perfectly, it made her appear more youthful. “I think a lot of people think she is older than she is, so that was also why we wanted a lip that popped,” Aharon said. Mission, accomplished!
Gigi was ahead of the trend while living up to her last name at the Billboard Music Awards in May, for which she donned an orange off-the-shoulder dress and soft coral makeup to match. The combo did everything to make the YouTube personality’s big blue peepers pop: Can you say ooo la la?
The Predator actress had a “cheeky” coral glow about her while attending a Baby2Baby Gala event in November that flattered her soft peach tiered J. Mendel gown.
January may be named for one of the coldest months of the year, but her look was pure fire when she rocked this full-faced coral look in June. “Summer is about all things 🍑,” she wrote on Instagram at the time. We couldn’t agree more, January!
