Selena Gomez is taking a leaf out of Kylie Jenner’s book and starting her own beauty brand. WWD reports that the singer filed a trademark for the brand name “Selena Gomez” in the lead up to creating her own cosmetics company.

According to the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, Selena is planning on bringing out a number of beauty products, including “fragrances, cosmetics, skin-care preparations, hair-care preparations, soaps, moisturizers, and essential oils,” as well as some other products. The trademark was filed by Selena’s production company July Moon Productions.

Other than launching a fragrance back in 2011, Selena doesn’t have much experience in the beauty industry. She has, however, collaborated with the fashion brand Coach for a handbag and accessory line as well as a ready-to-wear collection. In 2018, she designed a range of apparel for Puma, while in 2010 she launched a clothing line with KMart. Yeah, she can do anything.

When it comes to makeup, Selena usually opts for a more subtle, natural look, rocking a red lip on the odd occasion. Her skin is flawless though, so we’ll need to get our hands on any skin-care products in her new line. Honestly, as long as her products don’t replicate her 2018 Met Gala look … she’ll be okay. No shade.it

Fans of the 27-year-old seem to be super excited to hear they’ll have a chance to buy Selena approved products. Some of them took Twitter to discuss the news.

Selena is yet to comment on the upcoming beauty line herself ohand it’s unclear when fans can expect it to launch, but we bet Kylie and Rihanna are shaking in their boots.
