It's no secret that even celebrities don't actually look like celebrities. The plastic surgery options out there can get pretty weird, from eyebrow lifts and cheek fillers to chin reshaping and butt implants. Chrissy Teigen even admitted to getting her armpit fat sucked out, a testament both to how hilarious Chrissy Teigen is and to the amount of weird, nitpicky "flaws" we all find with our bodies.
Stars have been more forthcoming about the different methods they use to stay superhumanly beautiful, whether it's FaceTune or going under the knife. Kylie Jenner copping to getting lip fillers was a major beauty moment, and while it led to a ton of copycat procedures in her fanbase, it also destigmatized plastic surgery. As long as you're getting procedures safely and with healthy intentions, there's nothing wrong with getting lip fillers, Botox, implants, hair extensions or anything else you may want, especially if you're up-front with the fact that you've gone under the knife. In the spirit of full disclosure, here are 15 celebrities with lip fillers (and five whose lips are legit).
Kylie Jenner used to say she was just overlining her lips when they dramatically went from practically non-existent to #InstaGoals seemingly overnight. In 2015, she finally admitted to getting fillers, and shared during an episode of Life Of Kylie that she'd been insecure about her lips since one of her first kisses. The guy she was seeing had told her he thought she'd be a bad kisser because of her lips, and Kylie said she took the comment really hard. While she's gone through varying amounts of plumping over the years, her fillers helped her launch one of the biggest beauty companies in America.
Anna Faris revealed her lip filler journey in her book Unqualified in 2017. She started experimenting with plastic surgery after The House Bunny.
"Around the time I was filming The House Bunny, I started getting lip injections in my upper lip. I did it for a little bit and I noticed a small difference, but no one else ever said anything. I kept wondering if anybody else even noticed," Anna wrote.
She eventually weaned herself off of fillers after concern from her friends, but she has no regrets about the breast augmentation she got around the same time.
It's no surprise that Heidi Montag has lip fillers. Heidi, who now goes by Heidi Pratt, had so much plastic surgery that not only does she barely look like herself while she was on the first seasons of The Hills, she literally almost died from the sheer amount of procedures she underwent. Heidi told PAPER that after undergoing ten procedures in one day, her heart stopped for a minute and her husband, Spencer Pratt, thought he had lost her forever. Heidi regrets that decision now, obvi, but it looks like she's kept her fillers.
It's kind of amazing that Angelina Jolie hasn't had lip fillers, but cosmetic surgeon Dr. Tony Youn studied her beauty evolution for the Today Show and determined that Angelina's lips "appear totally natural and unaltered by plastic surgery." He decided this based on studying older photos that show the same lips she has today and seeing her lips maintain their fullness and shape ever when she went through a drastic weight loss. There are rumors that Angelina has gone through other cosmetic procedures including a nose job and a facelift, but her iconic pout is real AF.
Lindsay Lohan really went through it for a while there, but she's come out on the other side with a thriving club empire and a reality television series about her being a boss. Lindsay has clearly had more work done than just lip fillers, but there's definitely been some lip plumping action over the years. Linds has never officially admitted to getting work done, but looking at pictures of her beauty evolution makes it pretty clear her changing looks came from more than just puberty and the effects of hard partying in her youth.
20th Century Fox
Another celeb that hasn't admitted to her surgery (and has at times flat-out denied it) is Megan Fox, former Transformers star and eternal hottie. After InTouch Weekly ran a story claiming that Megan had undergone over $60,000 of plastic surgery, Buzzfeed did their own convincing exploration of her changing face that made it pretty clear she allegedly has a fuller upper-lip (and TBH a pretty different nose). Some things can be altered by hairstyles, weight fluctuations, or inventive contouring. This is not one of those things.
Dr. Tony also took a look at Julia Roberts's iconic lips and decided that her lips are 100% real. Julia has, in the past, spoken up about how not getting plastic surgery might have hurt her career. Although she was talking about facelifts specifically in the aftermath of Renee Zellweger's dramatic new face, it seems as if Julia has never gone under the knife for anything, she's just that pretty. Dr. Tony actually credits Julia's pout with starting the collagen lip injection craze in the '90s (which has evolved into the Juvederm and Restylane trends of today) because everyone wanted lips like hers.
Britney Spears admitted to getting lip injections and other "fun stuff" from Beverly Hills surgeon Dr. Raj Kanodia during her 2014 InStyle cover story. It's unclear for how long or how often Brit has had the lip fillers, but she was open about how she was really down to try anything, from peptide-based skincare to Dr. Kanodia's latest pick-me-up. Her fillers (and other cosmetic procedures) have been a little hit or miss in the court of public opinion, but she's been super open about the lengths she's gone to for beauty.
Courteney Cox talked about her experience with plastic surgery in People Magazine in 2019, admitting that she got all of her fillers (including her lip injections) dissolved in 2017 because she didn't look like herself. She said she began getting cosmetic fillers as a way to do maintenance on wrinkles and soft tissue during the aging process, but Court decided that they weren't for her. She now says she's more comfortable with herself growing and changing as she ages. Before she dissolved the fillers, she warned New Beauty that everything on her face was going to drop, but that she didn't want to feel like she looked fake.

Basically everything on Farrah Abraham's face is plastic; no tea, no shade. She never really denied having lip fillers (TBH, there's no denying the obvious), but she posted her filler-removal on Instagram two days after Kylie briefly got rid of her fillers in 2018. She also had a few botched filler incidents that ended up on TMZ (but we won't post those here because that's mean). She got the fillers back sometime between then and now, along with vaginal rejuvenation, butt tightening, nose and chin implants, and three boob jobs, according to InTouch. She's not exactly the poster child for responsible cosmetic procedures, but at least she's honest about 'em.
Ariana Grande is one of those celebs that has totally denied ever getting plastic surgery, attributing her extreme beauty changes to things like puberty. She's always had an enviable pout (well, since 2014) even without fillers, but InStyle, Life And Style, and The Skin Care Edit all agree that she probably got some fillers after her initial denial of plastic surgery rumors all the way back in 2014, when she was probably telling the truth. She looks great, though, and we'd love to know who her surgeon is and what his rates are.
People have lowkey been really mean about Christina Agulera's experiments with lip fillers, saying horrible things after her 2017 Whitney Houston AMA tribute and her 2018 music video for "Acceleration." She has also historically denied going under the knife, but there's a pretty big consensus that she's allegedly gotten work done on her upper lip according to Life And Style and DailyMail's compilations of tweets from fans and haters alike. She's still got one of the strongest belts in Hollywood, though, which is was people should really be focusing on.
You know how life isn't fair sometimes? Yeah, this is one of those times. Not only is Madelaine Petsch a natural redhead, she also has naturally perfect lips. Her eyelashes and butt are real too, FYI. She's even shared pictures of herself as a literal toddler with the ~same lips~ on Twitter to put plastic surgery rumors to rest. She attributes her out-of-this-world genetics to her South African heritage, which she actually used to be made fun of for when she was a little kid growing up in small-town Washington. It really does get better.
Vanderpump Rules reality star Lala Kent has recently gotten rid of her lip fillers, but she claims to have only gotten injections once, and they lasted for over a year. She hated the pain of the procedure according to an Instagram Stories Q&A reported on by Bravo, but she still gets Botox because she likes her face to "look froze as f*ck." She also maintains fillers in her jawline and chin, but she admits that she used to overdo it a little, saying that they made her look like a "cat-duck."
Today, Khloe Kardashian prefers to enlarge her lips naturally with lip liners, plumping lip glosses, and lip masks. She's also attributed her large lips to pregnancy hormones in the past, but Khlo did admit to getting temporary lip fillers during a 2015 episode of Keeping Up With The Kardashians. She stopped getting fillers long before her little sister Kylie popularized cutting back on injections, and Khloe has said she hated how large her pregnancy lips were while she was carrying True Thompson in 2018. The Kardashians basically all attribute their lips to overlining (exempting King Kylie), but TBH we aren't sure how much we believe them.
Another celebrity who had their face examined in photos for the Today Show by trusty Dr. Tony is Scarlett Johansson, whose pout was determined to be 100% real. Tony's exact words were "it’s impossible for a plastic surgeon to create perfection like this," which are strong words coming from a plastic surgeon. ScarJo has even threatened to sue UsWeekly all the way back in 2007 for saying she had gotten work done on her nose, showing the importance of always saying "allegedly" in front of any crazy theories you might post online. Her lips are clearly, 100% real, which is obvious from looking at pictures of her during her younger years.
British tabloid The Sun investigated claims that singer Ellie Goulding had obviously had lip fillers (allegedly), and they decided on a big, plump yes. Their so-called expert also guessed that Ellie had cheek and smile line fillers in addition to the lip work, and even though we can't know for sure unless Ellie steps up and admits to the cosmetic procedures, we definitely see what they're talking about. Ellie has talked to ES Mag in the past about being insecure about her face and has attributed her large lips to 3D lip liner. It's hard to imagine someone who's had a fling with Prince Harry being insecure about anything.

If you're literally shocked that Jennifer Hudson went in to get lip fillers, you aren't alone: her cosmetic surgeon was pretty shocked too. Jen opened up to Oprah Winfrey on Oprah's Next Chapter about having to get lip injections because of lighting issues during Dreamgirls. Apparently, her deep cupid's bow was causing issues for the film's lighting technicians, and her doctor initially said he didn't want to do the procedure because of how naturally awesome her lips are. She did it for the movie, and she went on to win an Academy Award for her role.
Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi admitted to getting lip injections in 2015, and she said that she was terrified of having needles in her lips but that it wasn't actually that bad. She shared on Instagram that she hates needles and loves her natural beauty, but that she wanted to feel better about herself by getting lip injections from celebrity surgeon Dr. Kassir Ramtin. Snooki has kept her injections up to this day, and she has also admitted to getting breast implants, too. Just like when she was on Jersey Shore, Snooki isn't one to shy away from any situation.
People assumed that Beyoncé had gotten lip fillers in 2017, but they should have known better than to assume Beyoncé was anything less than naturally #goals in every conceivable way. The photos in question were taken during her pregnancy, when she had the same pregnancy lips that Khloe Kardashian talked about. It's apparently caused by a dramatic changed in blood flow and increased fluids that cause swelling in the lips. Her lips on the daily are natural, too. But if they weren't, that would be okay, too. Beyoncé is flawless no matter what she does, as are all women. Bow down, b*tches.
