Ariana Grande Covers Up Another Pete Davidson-Inspired Tattoo
We’ve got some terrible news for those hoping #Pariana might get back together. Ariana Grande covered up yet another Pete Davidson-inspired tattoo, crushing our reconciliation dreams forever. It’s been less than a month since the couple called off their engagement after five whirlwind months together, but that isn’t stopping the “God Is a Woman” singer from moving on.
The first tattoo to go was her “Pete” one, which she had inked onto her ring finger while the two were still together. Eagle-eyed fans quickly noticed that Ariana covered the ink up with a bandaid when she performed live during NBC‘s A Very Wicked Halloween special on October 16, but this time it looks like she’s taken more permanent measures to cover up another one of her tattoos.
While sharing Instagram Stories, she posted a video toasting her friends, alongside the caption, “I have no words to describe how much I love and am eternally grateful for these human beings who constantly help me turn lemons into lemonade and literally heal me and put me back together.” However, all we were focused on was the what appears to be a feather over the “reborn” tattoo she got with Pete.
Her decision to cover her ink comes after the Saturday Night Live star confirmed he was doing some ink covering of his own. During a comedy appearance on October 20th, he made a joke about all the tattoos he’s gotten for relationships that didn’t work out. “I’ve been covering a bunch of tattoos; that’s fun,” Pete quipped, referencing the ones he got in honor of Ariana. “I’m f*cking zero for two in the tattoo department. I’m afraid to get my mom tattooed on me; that’s how bad it is.”
Even though Pete started covering up his tattoos before their break up was made public (transforming the Dangerous Woman tattoo he had below his ear into a heart), by covering up one of her Pete-related tattoos for the first time, Ariana is basically saying she’s over their relationship. We don’t blame her either. It makes total sense that she would want to cover up any reminders of her ex.
As of right now, it’s unclear if the “pete” tattoo she has on her thumb is still there and whether or not she plans on replacing it, too, but she also has a number of others as well. Ariana has a “Lumos” tattoo that she got for her and Pete’s Harry Potter obsession, a tattoo of his late father’s fire department badge number on her foot, and the matching “H2GKMO” tat they got with their friends.
As fun as couple tattoos are, perhaps Ariana will rethink them the next time around.
