Ariana Grande Says She Feels Empty Because Performing Her Songs “Is Hell”

By  |

You’d think Ariana Grande would be having the week of her life. Hot off Coachella weekend one, she’s set to headline yet again this weekend. If she does anything even close to what she did with her performance last Sunday, it’ll still be epic. Unfortunately, Ari isn’t having all the ~positive feels~ right now. It makes sense, considering the “Bad Idea” songstress has been open about her struggle with Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder since the Manchester bombing at her concert in 2017 and the death of her ex-boyfriend Mac Miller just before her broken engagement with Pete Davidson last year. For every one of Ari’s high highs, there’s a low low.

Today, Ariana’s having a rough time. But she’s not hiding it. The Coachella headliner signed onto Twitter saying that the second she got online to talk to fans, she wanted to get off. While some fans were deeply offended by this display of honesty, others had her back. One fan wrote, “i think the app is NOT the reason she doesnt want to be on here. she just wants to live her life without socials or negativity for a while.. i totally understand her tho [sic].”

Ari somberly responded to the stan, writing, “i just feel empty and i wanna have more to say / better energy to give to u and rn i don’t have anything. love u. [sic]”

One fan suggested to keep with the music, since she’s been very outspoken that it’s her therapy. And while she said it’s true, it’s possible that Coachella and her Sweetener/Thank U, Next world tour has been having an averse effect on her mental health. She wrote, “making it is healing. performing it is like reliving it all over again and it is hell.”

She continued on to say that she’d be sad without the performances, so it’s a bit of give and take. She’s working on her PTSD and that’s all that we, as fans, can hope for. Interestingly enough, the one tweet where she said that, she deleted in a matter of minutes. Naturally, we got a screenshot:
