Surprise! Former Bachelor Star Arie Luyendyk Jr. & Lauren Burnham Are Having A Baby
There’s another Bachelor baby on the way! Congratulations are in order for Arie Luyendyk Jr. and his fiancée Lauren Burnham, who are expecting their first child together. The couple, who are set to get married in Hawaii next year, announced the happy news via Us Weekly, revealing that although the pregnancy was not planned, they’re very excited to start a family together.
Lauren opened up about the moment she found out she was pregnant, telling the magazine, “I kind of had a feeling that I might be pregnant. So my friend insisted on bringing a pregnancy test over. Arie came out with the test in his hand and tears in his eyes. He was like, ‘You’re pregnant!'”
Arie also revealed that Lauren took not one, but seven pregnancy tests to make sure the results were correct. “Lauren took all of them and they were all positive,” the former Bachelor star said. “We weren’t trying but we are so excited. It’s going to be a whole new chapter in our lives.”
The expecting momma also admitted that her pregnancy has been pretty difficult so far, explaining, “October was miserable. I had really bad morning sickness and barely left the house. But over the last week, I’ve started feeling a lot better, so it’s nice to have my energy back.”
As we mentioned, the pair will wed in a private ceremony in Hawaii on Jan. 12 and Lauren said that their upcoming nuptials definitely came to mind when they found out they were expecting. “The first thing we thought of was, ‘Oh my gosh. Our wedding,'” she said. “Obviously we’re not married yet, but this is the way it happened — and this is probably the way it was meant to happen!”
Fans of the hit ABC reality show will know that Arie and Lauren had everybody talking when they met on season 20 of The Bachelor since it wasn’t exactly the love story we were expecting. Arie was at the center of a controversy after he proposed to Becca Kufrin, only to break up with her on camera after realizing he was still in love with Lauren. The two ended up getting engaged on the After the Final Rose special in March 2016 and have been together ever since.
They later went on to travel the world, then bought a home together in Phoenix, Arizona, where they shot their pregnancy announcement pics. In a sweet Instagram post, the couple showed off sonogram photos of their little bundle of joy – and they could not look any happier.
This was SO not the Bachelor news we were expecting!
