Chilling Adventures Of Sabrina Star Ross Lynch Reflects On His Disney Days In New Interview
Ross Lynch is taking over the world. A star on Netflix‘s culty hit Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, the actor is now making fans swooooon over his music with brother Rocky Lynch as The Driver Era. But many of these TDE stans remember Ross from his days on the Disney Channel show Austin & Ally (he played the titular Austin Moon), in the Disney Channel Original Movie Teen Beach Movie (and its sequel), and making music with Rocky and his other family members (and a friend) in R5. R5 was signed to Hollywood Records, a label under Disney Music Group, and consisted of Ross, Rocky, Riker Lynch, Rydel Lynch, and Ellington Ratliff. Since then, they’ve all pursued separate endeavors — Rydel with a clothing line, Riker with Dancing With The Stars and film, and TDE began releasing music independentally with an edgier vibe.
In a new interview with Elite Daily, Ross and Rocky reflected on what they learned while signed under Disney Music Group and why they decided to forge their own path in the music industry.
“I think a lot of what we learned was really to just trust ourselves more and to not rely on other people as much,” Ross said. “Being independent works for us so well. We write and produce all our own songs, then we’re literally putting our own music videos into production right now.” He continued, “I think that was the most valuable lesson, to really trust ourselves.”
Clearly trusting themselves is working out well. They recently released a track called “Welcome to the End of Your Life” (that we’ll embed below) and went on tour earlier this year (with a show in LA still to come in June). Ross also went viral during one of their performances after he was taped dancing in a floral, unbuttoned shirt looking pretty sexy. He was also the victim of a fake leaked nudes scandal. If that doesn’t mean you’ve made it, I don’t know what does.
