Cole Sprouse Says He & Dylan Sprouse Won’t Return To Disney Channel
Dashing our dreams of a Suite Life of Zack & Cody reboot/revival à la Raven’s Home is Cole Sprouse who stated in no uncertain terms that he and twin brother Dylan Sprouse would not return to Disney Channel, saying “the whole kitschy twin thing,” doesn’t really “sell anymore,” to Variety.
This revelation doesn’t come as too big of a surprise considering both of the young men have been publicly critical of their days (more accurately, six years) working for The Mouse and why they stopped. “When we had pitched our [continuation] idea [for Suite Life on Deck], it was kind of this situation where they had almost laughed in our faces,” Dylan recalled to Salon. Later, Disney confronted them about an eerily similar pitch of their own (and one where the twins wouldn’t be given producer credits). “Cole and I turned to each other and we basically laughed in their faces and walked out. And that was the last meeting we had with Disney.”
Though the Riverdale star and the future After We Collided actorare opposed to going back to their roots at Disney, they’ve talked about working together again — just not in twin roles — however that would work out. “If it’s a cool project, I don’t have a problem with that.”
Right now, though, the two guys are decidedly not working together. Cole is still working on Riverdale (and they’ve both said on several occasions that Dyl will never make an appearance on The CW show), and Dylan has the aforementioned After sequel on the way, as well as parts in Tyger Tyger and Turandot coming soon.
