As pop stans definitely already know by know, Demi Lovato made her comeback to pop at the 62nd GRAMMY Awards while performing her emotional new song “Anyone.” The song, which was written just days before her 2018 drug overdose, was written as a “cry for help,” according to Demi.

The track made quite an impact in the music community and after she performed it, many people flocked to their Instagram Stories to praise the “Confident” singer’s bravery and courage for performing such a vulnerable track. One of those people was Selena Gomez with whom Demi has a very complicated history. Though the two have known each other since they were toddlers on Barney & Friends and grew up on Disney Channel together, their first sign of drama was in 2010 when Demi seemed to get jealous of SelGo’s relationship with Taylor Swift. Later, she told Complex that they don’t talk anymore. But months before Demi’s overdose, they reunited at the InStyle Awards in 2017.

Seems like the relationship is back on ice, though, because Demi is hanging out with Justin Bieber and seems to have straight-up rejected an olive branch that Selena extended her way.

Demi reposted nearly all the celebrity well-wishes on Instagram from people who enjoyed her GRAMMY performance. She posted Christina Aguilera and even Jaclyn Hill, who wrote, “Even though I don’t know [Demi Lovato] personally, I feel so proud of her.” Demi responded to Jaclyn, saying, “Thank you, queen!” But a post from someone who does know Demi personally went completely unnoticed — Selena.

“I wish there were words to describe how beautiful, inspirational and DESERVED this moment was. Demi I’m so happy for you. Thank you for your courage and bravery,” Selena wrote in an Instagram Story showing Demi up on the GRAMMY stage.

After Demi’s overdose, Selena told Elle that she had reached out. “All I’m saying is, I reached out personally. I didn’t do a public thing. I didn’t want to … I love her. I’ve known her since I was 7.” But since Demi fired someone on her team saying, “Real friends don’t do interviews when you OD,” perhaps she’s feeling a little icy about Selena for the same reason? Selena unfollowed Selena Gomez and Nick Jonas around the same time.

We may never know the full extent about what happened behind-the-scenes between Demi and Selena, but it seems that the “Anyone” singer is not ready to make nice just yet.
