Demi Lovato Spotted In Public For The First Time Since Drug Overdose
She’s on the road to recovery! Demi Lovato has been spotted for the first time since she was rushed to the hospital for a drug overdose earlier this summer. The “Sorry Not Sorry” singer was photographed out and about on Sunday, September 23 – and we’re happy to report that she looks to be in great spirits! The image gave fans their first glimpse of Demi in public, almost two months to the day after she was discovered unconscious at her Hollywood Hills home.
In the photo, obtained by TMZ, Demi is spotted with a big smile on her face as she chats with a woman walking her dog. She wore a cap low over her eyes and held a large coffee in her hands.

According to the website, the pic was taken near the rehab facility where she’s currently seeking treatment and working on her recovery. She had reportedly also been seen out with ex-boyfriend Wilmer Valderrama – who has been visiting her regularly – at a local Starbucks. Sources say he’s flown in “several times” to see her and has become a “constant presence” for her.
This time, though, Demi was spotted by herself. This pleasant sighting came just a day before the two-month mark of her OD. As previously reported, Demi suffered an overdose on July 24th and was revived with Narcan before the paramedics arrived on the scene. She was then rushed to the hospital and stayed there for more than a week before she was released on August 4th.
After leaving the hospital, Demi wrote an open letter to fans in which she thanked God for keeping her alive. “What I have learned is that this illness is not something that disappears or fades with time. It is something I must continue to overcome and have not done yet,” she wrote.
While Demi hasn’t spoken publicly since her initial Instagram post about the incident, her mother recently shed some light on how she’s is doing. “She’s happy, she’s healthy, she’s working on her sobriety, and she’s getting the help she needs,” Dianna De La Garza said in an interview with NewsMax TV. “And that, in itself, encourages me about her future and the future of our family.”
Based on the recent pic, we believe it. Demi looks amazing and we wish her nothing but the best as she continues to seek the treatment she needs in order to get better again.
