Demi Lovato’s New Tattoo Seems To Be Inspired By Britney Spears’s Instagram
Britney Spears‘s Instagram has already given us so much and apparently it gave Demi Lovato inspiration for her newest tattoo. In the beginning of November, Britney posted an image of a woman being lifted by three birds. Underneath the piece, there was a quote that read, “The would is the place where the Light enters you.” The quote was cited to Rumi.
But earlier this week, Demi Lovato debuted her new tattoo… which is a black and white version of the same image! The tattoo artist, Alessandro Capozzi, shared Demi’s new ink on Instagram, writing that it, it meant to “represent a rebirth of the spirit.” He continued, “The dark wings represent the bad times, their fading away is how she moved forward. The light from within represents the inner strength necessary for the change and the doves, pulling her up, symbolize the reach of [a] higher state of consciousness. Congratulations on your inspiring journey Demi, honored to have represented this for you.” The work was placed on her upper back right below the nape of her neck.

The “Sorry Not Sorry” singer and Britney Spears have a lot in common — so it’s not unrealistic to think that Brit would be someone Demi looks up to. Both were Disney child stars who suffered from mental health issues and allegations of drug abuse at a young age. In 2018, Demi was hospitalized after a drug overdose when the star relapsed after six months of sobriety. The Sonny With A Chance actress has been open about her struggles with bipolar disorder and an eating disorder.
Britney, on the other hand, was put under the legal guardianship of her father after she had a “mental breakdown” in 2007 that lead to her shaving her head and losing custody of her own children. Since then, the “Toxic” songstress has been in and out of mental health rehabilitation centers all the while posting Instagram videos that fans believe shows she’s acting “erratic.” After Demi’s drug overdose, there were reports that Britney’s team banned alcohol during her Piece of Me tour since Brit had been sober for over a decade.
Both Demi and Britney were judges on The X-Factor in 2013, where they became fast friends. “It was pretty crazy sitting next to her [on The X Factor],” Demi told The Houston Chronicle in 2016. “It was something that was definitely very surreal and kind of full circle. She’s a legend, and I enjoyed every minute of it. I think she’s a sweetheart. I’m really lucky that I got to know her a little bit.”
We hope to see what Demi has to say about her tattoo’s connection to Britney Spears. We’ll be waiting!
