Hailey Baldwin Bieber is in hot water again. Just a few days after she called Twitter a “breeding ground for cruelty towards each other,” she’s being slammed again by Twitter users who have been sharing the model’s former Twitter/Instagram/Tumblr posts to prove that she’s “racist” and bigoted. This all came as a response towards Hailey’s defense of her husband, Justin Bieber, who recently shared that he’s been diagnosed with Lyme disease after a long struggle with undiagnosed symptoms.

“While a lot of people kept saying justin Bieber looks like sh*t, on meth etc. they failed to realize I’ve been recently diagnosed with Lyme disease [sic],” he wrote next to a screenshot of a TMZ article describing the “YUMMY” singer’s illness. “It’s been a rough couple years but getting the right treatment that will help treat this so far incurable disease.”

But when people came for Justin saying that Lyme wasn’t a “real illness” and that “he wouldn’t have gotten lyme disease if he stanned selena,” Hailey was not having it. “For those who are trying to downplay the severity of Lyme disease […] Please do your research and listen to the stories of people who have suffered with it for years. Making fun of and belittling a disease you don’t understand is never the way, all it takes is educating yourself,” she wrote via Twitter.

While Hailey is 100% correct that you should not make fun of people with chronic illnesses, some fans pointed out that Beliebers made fun of J.B.’s ex Selena Gomez and her lupus diagnosis. Even now, some J.B. and Hailey fans said he must have gotten Lyme from Selena… even though the two chronic illnesses are completely different (and not contagious).

But even more troubling is the screenshots that have been shared as responses to Hailey’s tweets. These screenshots date back years and include Hailey (at the time) Baldwin using the n-word casually, saying she’s “Asian” with squinty eyes, and mentioning she came back from Florida “a different race.”

It doesn’t appear that the battle of the fandoms will be ceasing any time soon. With J.B. dropping a song days before Selena’s new album Rare and now this, there’s a lot of fuel to fire this feud. Try not to get caught in the crossfire.
