Everything You Missed This Weekend With James Charles, Tati Westbrook, & Jeffree Star
Over the weekend, there was a massive development in the James Charles and Tati Westbrook drama. On Friday, James posted his response to Tati’s videos in which she appeared to “expose” him and his unacceptable actions, and now it appears that James has come out looking like the good guy after all.
Tati’s videos contained a host of pretty scathing allegations about James – from questioning his loyalty to accusing him of sexual harassment. It looked like James’s career was over, his subscriber count dropped by millions and he was MIA on social media. We thought there was no coming back for our beloved CoverGirl ambassador, but his latest video kind of makes Tati look like a big fat liar.
In the video, titled “No More Lies,” James addresses every point Tati made in her original “Bye Sister” video, from the SugarBearHair issue to the sexual harassment allegations. James includes screenshots in his video which claim to prove his SBH deal was spontaneous, and not orchestrated as Tati had alleged. He also contested Tati’s claim that he never gave her a courteous heads-up about the sponsorship, displaying more text message receipts to back up his claim.
One of the biggest and most harsh allegations Tati made in her video was that James had “tried to trick a straight man into thinking he’s gay” at her birthday party in Seattle. James goes into detail about this incident, showing messages that were exchanged between him and the man in question, seemingly proving that all encounters between them were 100% consensual.
“I am a 19-year-old virgin … I really don’t get a lot of action … I have never, and would never, and will never use my fame, money, or power to manipulate or get any sexual actions from a guy. That is disgusting.”
James then went on to discuss tweets that were written about him by fellow beauty YouTuber Jeffree Star. Their beef started when Jeffree tweeted calling James a “danger to society” and alleged that his boyfriend, Nate, had banned James from their home.
“There is a reason that Nathan banned James Charles from ever coming over to our home again,” he wrote. “There’s a reason why I haven’t seen him since @GlamLifeGuru’s birthday in February. He is a danger to society. Everything Tati said is 100% true.”
In his “No More Lies” video, James addresses Jeffree’s tweets and shows screenshots of texts he received from Jeffree that are extreme, to say the least. In the texts, Jeffree alleges James tried to “molest” YouTuber Grayson Dolan in his sleep and called him a “sick motherf*cker.” Jeffree also said he believed James should be “locked in prison for a very long time.”
After James’s video, Twitter began dragging Jeffree for his “disgusting” texts, resulting in him losing thousands of followers. Jeffree had previously tweeted saying he had receipts that would expose James further, but his response video seemed to do a complete 180.
The video, titled “Never Doing This Again,” was uploaded by Jeffree on Sunday night. In it, he acknowledged the tweets and messages he directed at James and reveals he regrets doing so.
“I know a lot of you are sick and tired of hearing about the subject. I think things are getting crazy dangerous and we need to have a conversation. Yesterday James uploaded a video. There was mentions of me in there. For hours yesterday, it took me back to the old Jeffree and I was in a very dark place.”
He continued: “A lot of you have seen the vicious texts I sent. Because I said those things, that does not equal me hating James Charles. I definitely think I mishandled our friendship.”
Jeffree acknowledged his claims that he had receipts on James but said he wasn’t going to use them and fuel the fire. “After Seattle… there [are] so many rumors… Everyone has their own version of the story. We were all there. I think there is a major portion that thinks Jeffree Star is going to come for James. I said some things online about pulling receipts. I was gonna pull voice memos. I was getting into a place where it wasn’t healthy. I stopped those feelings. I let them all subside. I am not going to fuel this fire bigger so everyone can get more entertainment. Behind the scenes, this isn’t funny. I inserted myself publicly [and] I shouldn’t have,” he said.
About his harsh texts, Jeffree said: “I want to say that I regret them. I don’t regret much in my life but I regret hitting the send button because they were bigger and louder than I ever imagined and it made things worse. Everyone is so used to Jeffree being the most controversial person in the beauty community. Before fully accusing an individual of doing anything I need more facts.”
So where is Tati during all this? On Sunday night, after Jeffree uploaded his video, she released a statement on Twitter saying she won’t be making further comments on the issue for the sake of her community, viewers, and mental health. She also addressed her first video, “Bye Sister,” which she has since deleted.
“Although I do not regret raising my concerns, I completely regret the way I went about saying them, I could have and should have found a better way.”

James also tweeted, and both Tati and Jeffree ‘liked’ his statement.
Thank you @jeffreestar & @glamlifeguru for your sentiments. I am on board to move on, will not speak about this further, but do hope to speak in the future when we’re all ready. This week was awful for all of us and I ask that the community focuses on positivity moving forward ❤️

If there’s one thing that James, Tati, and Jeffree all agree on it’s that they want to put the drama to rest. Whether the feud is truly over or not is something we’ll have to wait to find out..
