Justin Bieber Says Hailey Bieber is “The Only Who Can Put Up With” Him

The fourth episode of Justin Bieber‘s YouTube mini-docuseries, Seasons, is finally out (for viewers who don’t have premium), and in it, we go back to the beginning of the “Yummy” singer’s relationship with now-wife Hailey Baldwin Bieber. The episode is centered around Hailey’s positive effect on her man, and it includes a flashback of Justin meeting Hailey’s dad, Stephen Baldwin, who introduces the future spouses, and Justin recalls her being a little underwhelmed to meet the biggest popstar of that year. But yet, it was the beginning of an on-off relationship that would last over a decade and Justin is reflective about why their relationship works.

“I think she’s probably got a lot of patience,” says J.B.’s friend and co-founder of Drew House, Ryan Good.

“I think she’s the only one that can put up with me, for real,” Justin said about Hailey. “Even if the music sucks, she’s so awesome and cares about me so much, she would just love the fact that I’m happy doing what I love.”

Elsewhere during the episode, Hailey talked about the time they spent apart during one of their “off-again” periods. “When things kind of went south for a little bit and we went our separate ways, I just knew that no matter what the outcome was going to be, he was going to be somebody that I loved for the rest of my life, no matter what.”

The episode release comes alongside Hailey’s Elle cover story, where she also talks about her relationship with Justin and the way they connected over God.

“There was a time when our lives seemed to be going in very different directions,” she told the mag about their separation. “I actually think — now that I look back at it being married — [the breakup] was a good thing for the two of us, very healthy … We ended up being at this church conference together in Miami, and it was the first time we’d seen each other in a while. I remember we were hanging out and I was like, ‘Listen, I’m really, really happy for us to be friends again. I want us to always be cool and be friends.’ He was like, ‘Yeah, here’s the thing: We’re not going to be friends.’ And I was like, ‘Oh. Is that so?’” The rest is history.

Seasons is being released as the lead-up to Justin’s next album Changes, which will be released on February 14.
