Luke Perry’s Daughter Gives A Riverdale Shout-Out In Emotional Instagram
Beverly Hills 90210 and Riverdale actor Luke Perry died just over a month ago, and the heartbreak over his passing hasn’t faded at all. Riverdale EP Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa has declared that all future episodes of the show are dedicated to Luke, Cole Sprouse has stood firm in not saying too much out of respect for his co-star’s family even while promoting his new movie Five Feet Apart (where every interviewer can’t seem to think of anything else to ask him about), and now, his daughter Sophie Perry is showing just how important Riverdale was to her dad, as well — by sporting one of his costume hats while returning to Malawi, where she’s volunteering and where she was when she found out her father had unexpectedly suffered from a massive stroke.
The 18-year-old daughter of Luke and Rachel Sharp shared a selfie on Instagram, saying her return to East Africa has been “emotional but it feels right to come back,” while donning her dad’s “Andrew’s Construction” cap. Riverdale fans know that Luke played Fred Andrews, head of Andrew’s Construction and dad of Archie Andrews on the show.

First few days back in Malawi have been very emotional but it feels right to come back, to finish what I started, to do the most with whatever time we have left. I recently learned that may not be as much time as we think. It was quick and scary to leave home again so soon, but there’s a job to be done, and someone to make proud. Also excuse my “post 30 hours o travel” face

This isn’t Sophie’s tribute to her late father. She posted shortly after his passing, then a couple weeks later saying she was missing him “a little extra” that day.

A lot has happened in this past week for me. Everything is happening so fast. I made it back from Malawi just in time to be here with my family, And in the past 24 hours I have received an overwhelming amount of love and support. I cannot individually respond to the hundreds of beautiful and heartfelt messages, but I see them, and appreciate you all for sending positivity to my family and I. I’m not really sure what to say or do in this situation, it’s something you aren’t ever given a lesson on how to handle, especially when it’s all happening in the public eye. So bear with me and know that I am grateful for all the love. Just, being grateful quietly.
We can’t even imagine how hard the past month has been for Sophie and her whole family, including her brother Jack Perry. Hopefully they know there’s an entire cast located up north in Vancouver who has a whole lot of love to share with them.
