Miley Cyrus Adorably Overshared For Liam Hemsworth’s Birthday Post
Miley Cyrus just won the viral How Did Age Hit You? 10-year challenge that has been traveling around social media with her adorable birthday post for her husband, Liam Hemsworth. Miley shared an adorable picture of the newlyweds from 2009 when they were filming The Last Song, the Nicolas Sparks movie where they met and began their own epic love story. We’re not crying, you’re crying.
Miley also shared a video of Liam goofing off in their home, but the crown jewel of her glorious birthday post was the long note to Liam she shared. She’s come a long way from “7 Things,” that’s for sure.
Miley offered an intimate look into their life together, reviving my belief in true love and warming my cold, dead heart. We learned that Liam goes outside to check the weather for her instead of using his phone, that he tries to do laundry and fails, and that the couple loves The Sandlot and RuPaul’s Drag Race. Miley painted a portrait of a regular, human life, where Liam mutters when he reads and listens to her work, and where he leaves his dirty socks on the floor and she doesn’t care because at least he’s home.
“I love the way we speak in our own language. Sometimes with just a look,” Miley wrote. “I love going to a random party and remembering basically everyone is fake AF out here and how lucky I am to share a life with someone so REAL.”
“If the world had more of this type of understanding we wouldn’t be building more walls but bridges,” Miley continued, before thanking Liam for the happiest days of her life. King of Romance Nicolas Sparks couldn’t have written a better love story if he tried.
Miley and Liam went down a long road to make it to where they’re at today. The couple, who met in 2009, broke-up in 2010 and again in 2011 before getting engaged in 2012. Liam and Miley broke-up for a third and what seemed like a final time in 2013 after rumors of Liam’s infidelity and Miley’s very public rebellious phase (we all remember that horrible bear onesie at the VMAs). The pair dated other people but remained friends, with Miley even helping Liam adopt his dog Dora in late-2015, but by 2016 their engagement was back on. This time, the couple kept a low profile and stayed out of the spotlight as best they could as two superstars. Their relationship wasn’t confirmed until October of that year, and they didn’t make any red carpet appearances together until October 2017. The fairytale couple has been going strong for at least three years now, and they got married in a small ceremony in December 2018.
Miley’s journey from her Dead Petz days until now has looked like one of intense personal growth, grounding, and emotional maturity. Her romance with Liam proves that true love will prevail even in the darkest of times, and if this celebrity couple ever calls it quits, we should probably all just give up because Miley and Liam are society’s last hope.
