Uh-oh, looks like John Mayer has found himself in yet another controversy — this time, because Nick Jonas claimed during an interview with his brothers that the “Your Body Is A Wonderland” crooner ripped off one of the Jonas Brothers‘ most iconic songs — “Lovebug.” While the boys were burnin’ up on First We Feast’s “Hot Ones” YouTube show, Nick let it slip that John Mayer once told the boys that he was a huge fan of “Lovebug,” then two years later, released “Walt Grace’s Submarine Test, January 1967.”

“He came to us at the Grammys years ago and he said, ‘I love your song Lovebug,'” Nick explained on “Hot Ones.” “Two years later he released a song and the chorus is literally the same with different lyrics.”

We listened to both songs on repeat (for journalistic purposes), and have to admit that Nick’s claims seem to be backed up with pretty solid evidentiary support. Luckily for John, the JoBros weren’t fazed by the blatant copying. “It’s a compliment when someone does that,” Nick said. Looks like Joe Jonas and John have more than an ex in common, and now it’s public knowledge!

If you want to do research of your own, we’ll link both songs below.

How similar is that?! Sound off in the comments below on whether you think the Jonas Brothers are truly flattered or secretly salty John didn’t get them any credit!
