Olivia Jade Spotted With Her Ex as College Admissions Scandal Rages
Emotional backslide alert! Influencer and famous non-athlete, Olivia Jade has been spotted hanging out with her ex, singer-songwriter Jackson Guthy in Los Angeles. The couple split in May after the scrutiny on Olivia and her family due to the college admissions scandal proved to be too much. We can’t blame Olivia for spending time with her ex. We imagine that spending time at home with her family isn’t exactly super fun right now.
Sources told Us Weekly that Olivia “seems emotionally dependent” on Jackson and that the two still hang out frequently and remain on good terms as they share lots of mutual friends. Again, it seems totally reasonable for a teenager who (no shade!) is facing consequences for perhaps the first time in her life.
Olivia is reportedly looking to move on from the scandal. The solution to her problems could be reality TV. At the premiere for the reboot of The Hills reality TV star Spencer Pratt told Us Weekly that he believed that Olivia Jade would be a great addition to the show’s second season.
For those who need a quick refresher: Olivia Jade is a 19-year-old beauty YouTuber who became a household name in May when an FBI investigation uncovered the fact that her parents Full House actress Lori Laughlin and fashion designer Mossimo Giannulli allegedly paid to have her and her sister recruited to the University of South California as crew recruits, despite the fact neither of them played the sport.
Olivia became the poster child for privileged children when a video clip of her saying “I do want the experience of like game days, partying … I don’t really care about school, as you guys all know” in a Q&A vlog on her YouTube channel went viral after the scandal. Olivia has since deleted the video. In the wake of the scandal, the YouTube blogger lost many of her major sponsors, including her partnerships with Sephora, Estée Lauder, and TRESemmé. She’s also gone dark on social media, which has got to be another big blow to her routine. Leaning on an old friend — even if he’s an ex — makes a lot of sense.
