Comic-Con was the place to be for Riverdale fans last weekend because it looks like a brand new couple was spotted at the San Diego event. KJ Apa was allegedly spotted getting cozy with Britt Robertson, whom he’ll be starring alongside in a new movie I Still Believe which is due out in 2020.

US Weekly has reported that the stars, who met on the set of the 2017 flick A Dog’s Purpose, were spotted holding hands, hugging, and kissing each other while they hung out with KJ’s Riverdale castmates. Britt was most recently linked to actor Graham Rogers, who she last posted a photo with at Christmas 2018, and was also known for dating actor Dylan O’Brien from 2012 to 2018. Us Weekly has also reported that KJ (22) and Britt (29) have been liking each other’s Instagram posts since April. Cheeky.

Fans of the stars seem kind of surprised at the news that they’re romantically involved, with some saying that they “didn’t see this coming.”

Aside from KJ’s new budding romance, there were multiple Riverdale cast moments from last weekend’s event worth noting. During the Riverdale panel, Camila Mendes and KJ were asked what Varchie’s ideal date is, to which Cole hilariously butted in and answered “a shower.”

In another clip from the panel, Lili Reinhart and Cole Sprouse discuss what’s in store for their character’s relationship now that Jughead is leaving for prep school. The actors hint that there will be yet ANOTHER bump in the road for Bughead, with Cole saying that he thinks another girl will come into the mix.

Season two of the CW show saw Madelaine Petsch‘s Riverdale character Cheryl come out as gay, which she told a Comic-Con interviewer has been her favorite moment of the show so far. “Hearing fans come up and say to me that my character’s storyline gave them the courage to come out is the most beautiful thing an artist could ever experience.”

While being interviewed at the event, KJ hinted that there might be more to come from the Barchie storyline when Jughead goes to a different school in season four. Could this be the end of Varchie and Bughead?!

Lastly, Cole thinks that Comic-Con goers stink. When asked what’s the craziest thing the cast has ever seen at a Comic-Con event, Cole answered: “Deodorant.” SAVAGE AF.
