Is there trouble in the Archieverse? Apparently, because Riverdale fans are freaking out after Ashleigh Murray, who recently departed the show for its spin-off Katy Keene, and Lili Reinhart mutually unfollowed each other on Instagram.

According to eagle-eyed fans, the two unfollowed each other about a month ago after Katy Keene was officially picked up by The CW, meaning that Ashleigh’s character Josie McCoy would be written off of Riverdale so the actress could take a bigger part on the spin-off show starring Lucy Hale. Lili’s mom, Amy Reinhart, who does respond to social media inquiries about her daughter on occasion, also unfollowed Ashleigh (Ashleigh is still following Amy).

On a fan thread on Lipstick Alley, some have speculated that the feud may be over Lili’s “white feminist” quotes. A fan named Sunburnt wrote, “Is it that hard to guess? LR stays in some sh*t and is your quintessential white feminist.”

Fans noticed that back in January, Ash’s costars like Camila Mendes and Madelaine Petsch wished her a happy birthday on social media and Lili was curiously silent — as we know from her recent birthday post for boyfriend/costar Cole Sprouse, she loves a sweet birthday IG.

The actors in the Archieverse are usually spotted hanging out together in Vancouver — like just last week when Chilling Adventures of Sabrina star Kiernan Shipka was partying on a boat with Camila, Casey Cott, and Vanessa Morgan. But since Katy Keene films in New York, maybe — if the feud rumors are for real — Ashleigh and Lili will be able to avoid each other for the foreseeable future.

We can’t imagine either of these women will ever come out and confirm what went wrong between them, but it sure is suspicious.
