It’s very easy to assume that our favorite stars have it all together. However, that couldn’t be further from the truth–and Lili Reinhart is here to remind everyone of that. She struggles with some of the same things we struggle with, but unfortunately, she has to do it in front of the whole world. For the Riverdale star, that means she gets to share with us how she copes with mental health issues like depression and anxiety in hopes that she can help at least one person who’s similarly struggling.

Lili has opened up about her experiences dealing with depression before, but late Monday night, October 29th, the actress took to Twitter share a few coping mechanisms she uses all the time. In a series of tweets, the 22-year-old explained how she gets through the tough days.

She also urged her followers to set goals for themselves–even if they’re as simple as getting through the day, hour, or even minute, adding that there is a light at the end of the dark tunnel.

Lili went on to say that who she is now compared to who she was when she was 16 years old are completely different and that’s because she’s been through “hardships” that have made her stronger.

Finally, she used her last tweet to encourage her followers not to give up because each and everyone one of us is capable of finding the love and happiness we desire.

As always, we think it’s really brave of Lili to be so open. The CW star is constantly there to remind her fans that they’re not alone – and honestly, that’s what makes her such a great and important role model for this generation of young women. She’s not afraid to have an honest conversation about her mental health nor does she shy away from talking about her own personal struggles.

Thank you, Lili, for using your platform to talk about mental illness.
