Timothée Chalamet did not need to give us another reason to stan, but he did. The 23-year-old actor recently went on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon to promote his upcoming film Little Women and while he was talking about how much he loves working with director Greta Gerwig, he threw some shade at controversial Black Widow star Scarlett Johansson.

“Greta, if you’re watching this, you want me to play a chair or a tree… like Scarlett Johansson, I’ll be a tree!” he said before he and Jimmy Fallon started playing their new roles as a tree and a chair.

For those who need some context, ScarJo’s been slammed for her several casting controversies including getting cast as a transgender man in Rub & Tug and her 2017’s Ghost in the Shell role which was blasted for “whitewashing.” In response, she told As If, “You know, as an actor I should be able to play any person, or any tree, or any animal, because that’s my job and the requirements of my job.”

When the Rub & Tug backlash first hit headlines, the actress told Bustle, “Tell them that they can be directed to Jeffrey Tambor, Jared Leto, and Felicity Huffman’s reps for comment.” All three actors also played trans characters. She later dropped the role and admitted she “mishandled” the controversy.

While Scarlett’s words were undoubtedly harmful, Timothée poking some fun at her seems to be the perfect way to wrap up 2019. It’s been a tough year full of injustices, and we need to be able to laugh about something.

Elsewhere in the interview, Tim talked about having dinner with Kim Kardashian and Kanye West and getting so nervous he had to go to the bathroom to text his friends. LOL.
