We all remember our first celebrity crushes, whether you were part of the Mark-Paul Gosselaar generation, the Aaron Carter age, or today's Jake Paul-loving tweens. Even the rich and famous aren't immune to celebrity crushes, and the movie star you're daydreaming about right now might be falling hard for some pop star that doesn't even know they exist. If Selena Gomez, Ariana Grande, and Cole Sprouse all have unrequited crushes on other A-Listers, then none of us can claim to be immune. And if you think your crush is embarrassing, wait until you hear some of these celebs' celebrity crushes.
Ariana Grande could have any guy she wants, but the "Thank U, Next" singer only has eyes for Jim Carrey. Ari talked to Entertainment Tonight about her lifelong crush on the Bruce Almightly comedian back in 2015, and we'll bet those feelings still linger. Ariana quoted Jim in April 2019 while talking about her depression on her Instagram Stories, and she majorly fangirled after filming a guest spot on his Showtime series, Kidding, in July 2019.
A few months before Tana Mongeau and Bella Thorne got together in September 2017, Bella told Harper's Bazaar she wanted a *different* star to be her first girlfriend. The Famous in Love actress had come out as bisexual the year before, but she told Harper's she was "single as f*ck" and looking to date someone like Kristen Stewart, who she called "the raddest chick." TBF, she also told the interviewer she wanted to be "super faithful" and give her all to one person, and a few months later she was in the world's most infamous throuple, so clearly things change.
Speaking of Bella's ex-gf, Mrs. Tana Paul has been open about her huge crush on another former Disney Channel star, Miley Cyrus. The Whisp has previously reported on Tana's thirsty comments on Miley's IG in March 2019, asking Miley to punch her in the face and throw a drink at her, and in February of that year, Tana tweeted that she would break her legs so Miley could use them as eyebrow spoolies. Tana was also the only person who seemed to be happy about Miley's tragic split with Liam Hemsworth, excitedly tweeted, "WAIT @MileyCyrus IS SINGLE ?" the day the couple announced their divorce.
We all know Martha Stewart is a bad b*tch, and she naturally has fantastic taste in men. The former felon and lifelong OG told Entertainment Weekly that she's super into Ryan Gosling and has seen every one of his movies. The Ides of March is her favorite, BTW. A year after her Gosling confession in 2013, Martha told Today that she has a film-specific crush on Christian Bale in American Psycho, and with a ~killer~ bod like that, we can't blame her.
Jennifer Lawrence continued her relatability tour by confessing to tons of celebrity crushes over the years, going so far as to tell Seth Meyers that she wanted him to ask her our when she hosted SNL. She talked on Late Night With Seth Meyers that she would have asked *him* out if a wardrobe assistant hadn't warned her the future late-night host was engaged. She also admitted to giving Larry David her number (he never called), and she told Entertainment Tonight that she's waiting for then-22 year old Timothée Chalamet to get a little older before she pounces.
Looks like we weren't the only ones with a massive crush on Shane West in A Walk To Remember. Mandy Moore talked to Entertainment Weekly about her experience filming the 2002 Nicholas Sparks classic on its fifteenth anniversary in 2017, where she admitted to absolutely falling in love with her costar. Mandy described how, at sixteen, she had trouble discerning the difference between Shane and his character, especially because Shane himself was so cool, and she got caught up in the filming experience.
Britney Spears told E! News that her first celebrity crush was Brad Pitt, and considering that the 55-year-old is still smoking hot today, it's obvious why Brit would've been into him back in the day. Britney's actually still crushing on the Once Upon A Time... In Hollywood actor, with Access Online detailing the long history of her thing for Brad. In 2003, the then 21-year-old Britney admitted to keeping a framed picture of her and Brad on her nightstand, and she noted to Australia's Today in 2016 that she knew Brad was newly-single. You don't become the biggest pop star of a generation by giving up on your dreams.
While Britney Spears was busy gushing over Brad Pitt, an entirely different heartthrob was pining away after her. Sorry, Martha, but before marrying Eva Mendes, Ryan Gosling only had eyes for Brit. Admittedly, his crush on the "...Baby One More Time" singer happened way back when he was 12 years old during Disney's Mickey Mouse Club, where both A-Listers got their starts. Ryan told The Sunday Times Style magazine that Britney was the "girl next door" for him, but that she chose housemate Justin Timberlake over him, crushing his crush for good.
Meryl Streep must be drowning in b*tches, but the prolific actress told W that she had the biggest crush on Will Ferrell in 2015. In addition to learning that Anchorman makes her cry (we're assuming tears of laughter), that unlike Ryan Gosling, who she says could be her child, "Will Ferrell is a man." Move over boys, Meryl Streep knows exactly what she wants, and apparently, it's Ron Burgundy. The Big Little Lies star has seen every film Will's done, so we're assuming her crush has gone on for a while.
Emma Watson and Tom Felton remain good friends to this day, but back in 2011, Emma confessed to Seventeen that she had a huge crush on Tom during the first two Harry Potter films. An eternally classy broad, Emma talked to him about it, and the pair can still laugh about the TBT. We're assuming Tom's laughing to prevent himself from crying — we can't imagine passing up an opportunity to date the most beautiful actress in the game — but the Draco Malfoy actor has kept pretty quiet about the whole thing.
You'll soon learn that every man on Earth has a crush on Jennifer Aniston. We thought it was because Friends has been so integral to most of the population's pop-cultural upbringing, but Kiwi Riverdale star KJ Apa told Cosmopolitan he didn't watch the show while growing up in New Zealand, although the Rachel Green actress is still his celebrity crush. In August 2019, KJ told E! Online he was crushing on Jessica Alba during his teens, so it looks like our boy has a bit of a thing for older women (RIP to our dreams).
KJ Apa's Riverdale co-star Cole Sprouse also had a crush on Jennifer Aniston, but Cole's was slightly more rooted in reality. Cole played Ross Gellar's son Ben during Friends' later seasons, and Cole told the New York Post that he had a "really, really hard time" working with Jen because he was so in love with her. Adorably, the then-10-year-old actor would become so speechless around Jennifer he would "get all bubbly" and completely forget his lines when they would have to film together, which made his job pretty difficult.

If you weren't already deeply jealous of Jennifer Aniston, get ready to see blood. Jake Gyllenhaal and Jen co-starred in 2002's The Good Girl, and 14 years later, the "All Too Well" muse fessed up to People that he'd already had a crush on Jennifer for years by then. Jen actually responded to his confession to Access Hollywood, but all she said was that she had no idea at the time. To be fair, she was already married to Justin Theroux by the time Jake opened up about his former crush, so it's not like there was much she could do about it. Jake's Spider-Man: Far From Home co-star Tom Holland told Pop Buzz that Jen was *his* celebrity crush as well because life isn't fair. BRB, we're off to get "The Rachel."
Pretty Little Liars star Lucy Hale and her character Aria have at least one thing in common: they both like older men. Well, actually, you could say they had two things in common during the first season of the Freeform teen soap (back when it was still an ABC Family teen soap) while Lucy was crushing hard on her on-screen love interest Ian Harding, which she admitted on the Show Me More Show. Lucy's other celebrity crushes (Mark Wahlberg, Robert Downey Jr., and Steve Carell, according to the Huffington Post) are all roughly twice her age, so you could say she has a type.
Jason Sudeikis was one of our college celebrity crushes, but during the former SNL star's university days, Jason was head over heels for Ellen DeGeneres. Clearly, that didn't work out for him, but Jason explained to Elle that he fell in love with Ellen because of her gorgeous blue eyes and sense of humor. He also told Elle he fell in love with every woman in his father's Playboy because he's still a dude, but hearing Jason talk to Ellen about his giant crush on The Ellen Show is one of the most endearing interviews we've ever seen. Olivia Wilde is one lucky lady.
Nicole Kidman's celebrity crush story is weird, to say the least. Honestly, although the Big Little Lies star is happily boo'd up with sexy country singer Keith Urban, it seems like she still had some hard feelings in 2015 about the time Jimmy Fallon totally rejected her in the early '00s. Jimmy seemed super confused during his interview with Nicole on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon when Nicole revealed their "casual hang" set up by a mutual friend was supposed to be a blind date, where Jimmy brought out some leftover Chinese food and played video games. Real smooth, dude.
We're sure most of today's teen heartthrobs have a celebrity crush on Selena Gomez, but Selena only has eyes for older actors. Her IRL boyrfriends, Justin Bieber and The Weeknd, have both been around her age, but her admitted celeb crushes were exclusively older guys. Because Sel is a living straight woman with eyes, she had a crush on Chris Evans in 2015 (which she told Andy Cohen on Watch What Happens Live), she totally fangirled over Shia LaBeouf in a 2011 YouTube video, and she told Jimmy Kimmel that an Almost Famous obsession spurred a crush on her Rudderless co-star Billy Crudup.
Any self-respecting fan of High School Musical can admit to crushing on Zac Efron, but the once-and-future heartthrob told Vogue that his childhood crush was Elaine Benes from Seinfeld. This interesting little tidbit came from Zac's "73 Questions" feature so we didn't get any details, but we did also learn that young Zac had a poster of Tyra Banks wearing a purple bikini hanging in his childhood bedroom. Meanwhile, Troye Sivan, Chrissy Teigen, and Simone Biles have all copped to a crush on the Baywatch star.
Zendaya gave Essence an entire list of her celebrity crushes in 2015, and the girl has great taste. Her top pick was Carolina Panthers quarterback Cam Newton, who could make even us want to watch the NFC South, but Michael B. Jordan, Morris Chestnut, Channing Tatum, and Idris Elba also got shoutouts from the Euphoria and Spider-Man: Far From Home star. Zendaya called Morris her "grown-man crush," while Idris's accent, Channing's dancing, and Michael's acting sparked her celeb love. As for Cam, well, he's just gorgeous.
If you want a shot with Cap, we recommend being a 55-year-old white woman. Chris Evans's childhood celebrity crushes, as told to E! News, were Elisabeth Shue from Adventures in Babysitting, Lori Loughlin, and Sandra Bullock, who incidentally are all the same age. The Avengers actor clarified that his crush on Sandy was in the seventh or eighth grade, but comments about how Lori hasn't aged a day since her Full House days make us think some of those feelings might still be lingering, assuming the College Admission Scandal hasn't changed his mind.
