All The Celebrities Who Have Defended Scooter Braun Since Taylor Swift’s Takedown

This scandal is giving the James Charles controversy a run for its money. Taylor Swift has accused Scooter Braun and Big Machine Records of bullying and people are taking sides. If you want to know about the story itself (you must've been too busy celebrating Pride to check your phone?), check out Taylor Swift's Tumblr takedown here. TL;DR: Scooter bullied her when she was at her lowest after Kanye West and Kim Kardashian attacked her on social media, with the help of Justin Bieber, and now he's a part-owner of all the masters of her discography before she signed to Republic.
Many celebs have come out to say they #StandWithTaylorSwift, but some are making the unpopular choice of sticking with Scooter Braun, the manager of Justin, Kanye, and Ariana Grande, among others. Keep scrolling to see who...
Demi Lovato

Even Demi stans are side-eying her decision to stick with Scooter Braun since she only signed with him a couple months ago. That said, Demi took to Instagram to pen a text post about how grateful she is that Scooter came into her life.
"I have dealt with bad people in this industry and Scooter is not one of them. He’s a good man. Personally, I am grateful he came into my life when he did. Please stop ‘dragging’ people or bullying them," she wrote. “Y’all can come after me all you want but I’m always gonna stay loyal to my team. I value loyalty more than most people in this world and if my name is gonna be brought into conversations I’m gonna stand up for myself and the ones on my team.”
Yael Braun
This should come as no surprise since she married the man! Yael went on Instagram after she saw Taylor's Tumblr post and made some pretty damning allegations against the "Look What You Made Me Do" singer-songwriter. After claiming that Taylor was given the opportunity to own her masters and "passed," and that she learned about the deal between Scooter and Big Machine long before the story came out, she started on Taylor's character.
"Girl, who are you to talk about bullying?" she wrote. "The world has watched you collect and drop friends like wilted flowers. My husband is anything but a bully, he’s spent his life standing up for people and causes he believes in. Beyond that, it’s easy to see the point of putting this out was to get people to bully him. You are supposed to be a role model but continue to model bullying. He’s a manager, not God. He cannot control the actions of other humans, even ones he manages. Don’t blame him because Kim caught you in a lie, it’s embarrassing, I know — but adults own up to their mistakes."
She continued, "What you haven’t seen is what happens behind closed doors, that he has supported and stood up for you. When he has challenged his clients to be kind or be quiet. When he has reached an olive branch out to you on numerous occasions.
Scott (Scooter) was so excited to work and build with you. How embarrassing this temper tantrum is because you didn’t get your own way. He believes in and supports you, I sincerely hope you can learn to love and believe in yourself the way my husband does."
Justin Bieber
Def Jam Records
Scooter Braun's star client Justin Bieber came out to support his manager, too, which shouldn't come as a surprise considering Taylor called him a bully, too. Justin first deleted the Instagram caption that Taylor said was "bullying" and then wrote a long caption claiming to apologize to Taylor for what's happened in the past between them while also defending Scooter. He claims attacking his manager is "crossing a line."
"First of all i would like to apologize for posting that hurtful instagram post, at the time i thought it was funny but looking back it was distasteful and insensitive," he began. "As the years have passed we haven’t crossed paths and gotten to communicate our differences, hurts or frustrations. So for you to take it to social media and get people to hate on scooter isn’t fair. What were you trying to accomplish by posting that blog? seems to me like it was to get sympathy u also knew that in posting that your fans would go and bully scooter. Anyway, One thing i know is both scooter and i love you. I feel like the only way to resolve conflict is through communication. So banter back and fourth online i dont believe solves anything. I’m sure Scooter and i would love to talk to you and resolve any conflict, pain or or any feelings that need to be addressed. Neither scooter or i have anything negative to say about you we truly want the best for you. I usually don’t rebuttal things like this but when you try and deface someone i loves character thats crossing a line."
Hailey Baldwin
Instagram/HaileyBieber
Natch, Hailey supported her husband and Scooter by proxy. She did this by simply commenting "gentleman" on the Instagram post he wrote to Taylor. Cara Delivingne saw Hailey's comment and hit back in a big way. “Gentleman? @haileybieber @justinbieber you must be bored. I wish you spent less time sticking up for men and more time trying to understand women and respecting their valid reactions. As a married man, you should be lifting women up instead of tearing them down because you are threatened. I am not sure you actually understand what an apology is. This issue that @taylorswift is talking out is about far more than a picture and you know that. As you said, you haven't spoken to her in years which means you definitely don't understand the situation I do. Take a step back and try and learn from this. We should all be on the same team." JB deleted her comment.
Charlie Puth
It's unclear whether Charlie Puth is really #TeamScooter or if he was just commenting on the social media storm, but the "We Don't Talk Anymore" singer tweeted-and-deleted, writing, "we live in a 'cancelled' culture." People pretty much said he'd be cancelled if he said anymore so he deleted the tweet in favor of one a little more vague on who he was siding within the debacle. "I will say it is crazy to me that songwriters 99% of the time, really don’t own the entirety of their work."
Ty Dolla $ign
Literally no one asked for Ty Dolla $ign's opinion on Taylor v. Scooter Braun but he felt the need to post an Instagram to specifically praise Scooter Braun's deal. He wrote, "Congratulations to my brada @scooterbraun 🤲🏾❤️ they hate to see it bro 😤! Keep putting up these W’s !" Very random but Demi Lovato 'liked' the post which is no shock.
Kendall Jenner
Sheri Determan/WENN.com
Kendall's one of Hailey Baldwin's closest friends and also Kim Kardashian's sister, so it's unclear whether she's pro-Scooter or just anti-Taylor. The second-youngest KarJenner 'liked' Yael's defense of her husband. It's sad because Kendall used to be a part of Swift's iconic "squad," but that very squad has clearly fallen apart throughout the years. Friends grow apart, but not all former friends have to become bitter enemies. Just sayin'.
Kacey Musgraves
Apega/WENN
Pretty much the only female singer to side with Scooter Braun is Kacey Musgraves, who showed her support for the manager by 'liking' Yael Braun's Instagram post pointed at Taylor Swift. Kacey is usually a staunch supporter of women and what's right so her decision to voice her opposition to Taylor in such a public way does come as a bit of a shock. But people are chomping at the bit to take sides in this debate it would seem.
Jenna Dewan
Jenna Dewan is more proof that a 'like' is worth a thousand words. Like Kacey, the Step Up star 'liked' Yael's post defending Scooter and slamming Taylor Swift for lying and bullying. Jenna and Taylor don't really have any history together but the former Tatum also doesn't have much of a history with Scooter, either. Hopefully she doesn't really know what's going on and just 'liked' Yael's post because it showed up on her feed?
Sophia Bush
The CW
This One Tree Hill actress has been an advocate for women and feminism since her early days on the teen TV show and speaks out on injustice all the time. That's why fans were particularly disappointed when Sophia 'liked' Yael's post defending Scooter Braun. One fan wrote to her on Twitter, saying, "@SophiaBush, Scooter didn’t care about “working with Taylor”. And Scott only saw money. Without Taylor Big Machine lost worth. He made money off a WOMANS hard work. Which you usually stand up for. But I guess you are for women rights with exceptions."
