Constance Wu Demands Top Billing For Hustlers
So, is Constance Wu a diva? Page Six has reported that representatives have been contacting media outlets on behalf of the Crazy Rich Asians actress to ensure that she gets top billing in reports about her upcoming movie Hustlers. The stripper drama also stars Jennifer Lopez, rapper Cardi B, and Riverdale actress Lili Reinhart. The Page Six reports come after onset leaks which alleged that Constance was difficult during filming.
Reps for Constance issued a statement denying that the actress had anything to do with attempts to get coverage of the film to reflect the movie’s billing. In a statement to Us Weekly a representative claimed: “Constance had no knowledge or awareness of acts on her behalf of Hustlers to have reporting mirror that of the film’s castings or contractual billings.” Listen, we’re not gonna shade a girl for going after what she deserves, but this billing kerfuffle comes after Page Six reported that Constance was out diva-ing both Cardi B and JLo during filming. From what we know of JLo, that’s a huge accomplishment.

This isn’t the first time that Constance has been accused of being difficult. In May she made headlines for posting less than thrilled reactions to the renewal of her ABC sitcom Fresh Off The Boat. When a fan congratulated Constance on the “great news” about the show’s renewal, she responded, “No, it’s not.”
Calling a woman ‘difficult’ is definitely loaded with some extra cultural baggage, but the reports keep rolling in that Constance isn’t the most pleasant person to work with. Being a public hater of your own show? Not a good look.
Hustlers hit theaters in September.
