Who TF Is Riverdale’s Madelaine Petsch Shading In This Cryptic Tweet?

Who hurt you, Madelaine Petsch? Do we need to throw hands? On Wednesday, the Riverdale actress sent out a cryptic tweet that has us wondering … who TF is being mean to Madelaine?

The tweet seems to imply that someone has been saying some not very nice things about the actress, who plays fan-favorite Cheryl Blossom on Riverdale. Unlike her on-screen persona, who isn’t afraid to say exactly what’s on her mind and is the queen of the clap back, Madelaine has consistently charmed us with her sweet personality and bubbly YouTube videos documenting life on the Riverdale set.

Fans took to the comments, both confused by the cryptic nature of the tweet and ready to fight for their fav.

While we don’t know what this tweet is really about, we’re wondering if it’s connected to the recent Twitter drama surrounding the casting of Halle Bailey as Ariel in the live-action version of The Little Mermaind. ICYMI, Halle faced a lot of racist backlash from trolls who wanted a white Ariel. Some of the trolls who objected to Halle’s casting thought that Madelaine should have gotten the role instead because she’s white and has red hair. There’s no evidence that Madelaine ever auditioned for the part, but that didn’t stop some people from dragging Madelaine’s singing and acting skills in an attempt to defend Halle. The whole situation is Twitter at its worst, and we’re sad that Halle and Madelaine were both caught up in a racist cross-fire between internet trolls.

Keep your head up, Madelaine! In the meantime we should all remember what Mama Petsch said: if you can’t say anything nice, don’t say anything at all!
