Lili Reinhart Reveals What Brought Her & Her Riverdale Costars Together
Any TV fan knows that the Riverdale actors are some of the most tight-knit castmates around. Since the start of the show, Lili Reinhart, Camila Mendes, Cole Sprouse, KJ Apa, Madelaine Petsch and others have gushed about one another in public, shared silly behind-the-scenes videos that show them goofing off on set, and there have been a number of on-set relationships that came from the show including Lili and Cole (AKA #Sprousehart) and Camila and mid-series Reggie Mantle recast Charles Melton.
While talking to Bustle about her new brand deal with American Express, Lili Reinhart talked about how her social anxiety affects the way she travels and how she has relied on her castmates when she gets those anxieties during Riverdale promotional tours.
“It was strange because I was traveling to Montreal, or Paris, or Mexico [for the show], I felt a little guilty that I was traveling without my family. I was experiencing this all on my own without my family… It was sort of bittersweet in a way and strange for me to do that on my own and do it with friends or a significant other,” she revealed.
But traveling without her family and with her costars has connected them in ways us plebs might never understand. “It’s weird, it’s a very small group of people who can relate to you. That’s what really brought my castmates and I together … The people I’m surrounded by in my life now have very much encouraged me to broaden my horizons.”
Now, Lili’s doing a heck of a lot more traveling than the actress was in 2016 when Riverdale started. The CW show films in Vancouver, but her role in the NYC-based Jennifer Lopez flick, Hustlers took her around the country as a blockbuster everyone wanted to see. She snagged a role in Amazon’s Chemical Hearts, which she also filmed during the season three and season four Riverdale break. Basically, this girl is busy and traveling is just a part of the job. It’s a good thing her Riverdale costars helped her get used to it because we have a feeling these jet-setting ways are tame for what’s about to come.
