Ariana Grande Reacts To Mac Miller’s Death On Instagram With Another Tribute: “I’m so mad, I’m so sad”

Days after her brother, Frankie Grande posted on Instagram about his reaction to rapper and music producer Mac Miller‘s death, Ariana Grande has broken her silence by posting a tribute to her ex-boyfriend. This time with words.

She called him the “kindest, sweetest soul with demons he never deserved,” and elaborated on how she tried to help him with recovery while they were dating – something she had mentioned after their split and something his good friend Shane Powers confirmed recently as well.

“i adored you from the day i met you,” she wrote alongside an old video she took of him beginning to tell a story. He catches her recording him and the two break out into laughter. He calls her “baby,” and says he’ll tell her the story – whatever it is – as many times as she wants since it “makes [her] happy.” Our hearts just continue to break.

She continued in her post, saying, “i always will. i can’t believe you aren’t here anymore. i really can’t wrap my head around it.”

She then referred to his struggles with addiction and how she tried to help him seek sobriety during their two-year relationship. “we talked about this. so many times. i’m so mad, i’m so sad i don’t know what to do. you were my dearest friend. for so long. above anything else. i’m so sorry i couldn’t fix or take your pain away. i really wanted to… i hope you’re okay now. rest.”

Of course, her words came literally *minutes* after we heard of Justin Bieber and Hailey Baldwin‘s marriage – making today the most bittersweet Friday ever.
