The Original Kim Possible, Christy Carlson Romano Joins the Live-Action Disney Movie!
More than 15 years after she first brought the red-headed teen spy to life, Christy Carlson Romano is set to return for the new Kim Possible movie! Though some fans remember her as Ren, Shia LaBeouf‘s TV sister from Even Stevens, others will remember her as the voice behind the titular crime-stopper, which is why many wondered if she’d be involved Disney Channel‘s upcoming live-action movie. Now, Christy herself has confirmed she will have a role!
Okay, so… what’s the sitch?
“I can’t say too much about my involvement yet, but I’m very excited to help usher in the strong, empowered female character I helped bring to life to a new generation,” the actress told People. “And I’m equally thrilled to see what the original fans think!”
No word yet on which character Christy will play, but Kim Possible fans can rest assured that she will make a cameo the movie – even if it’s brief. The fact that the live-action film will feature a nod to the original is enough for us. When Disney revealed plans to bring back the show as an original movie, some speculated that Christy might return to play her iconic character in the present day. It’s not impossible… especially if they decide to feature a scene that’s set in the future.
So far, there aren’t many plot details since it’s still in development, but Disney announced that comedian Patton Oswalt is reprising his role as Professor Dementor. He voiced the villain in the animated series and will portray him in the live-action film as well. As of right now, we don’t know if Boy Meets World star Will Friedle (who voiced Ron Stoppable) will also return, but how cool would that be if he and Christy came back to play their OG characters’ future selves!?
Yay! Can’t wait! https://t.co/q0zJlVQ8Pf

Disney Channel also dropped the first teaser for the new Kim Possible this weekend, giving fans their first proper glimpse at Sadie in the iconic role. Though it reveals nothing about the upcoming film, it does feature the actress speak Kim’s famous catchphrase: “So, what’s the sitch?”
