You may have heard that Kendall Jenner was in some hot water over the weekend after a comment she made to Love Magazine where she said, “Since the beginning, we’ve been super selective about what shows I would do. I was never one of those girls who would do like 30 shows a season or whatever the fuck those girls do.” Almost immediately, the modeling community was outraged saying – basically – that the quote showed she didn’t have respect for the hustle that a lot of people in the modeling industry must do to survive and provide.

Russian supermodel Daria Strokous wrote on her Instagram Story, “‘Whatever the f*ck those girls do’ is do their very best to make their way up AND try to make some money so that they can provide for themselves and their families. Oh, and it’s 70 shows a season by the way and we are all f*cking proud of every single one of the girls that did it.”

Teddy Quinlivan also spoke her mind, saying, “If you are lucky as a model you might make enough to not be in debt to your agency; maybe even move out of the model apartment… Unfortunately this isn’t the case for the vast majority of models who have to leave everything behind including their families in pursuit of a better life… Models don’t just come from Calabasas.”

Although the Kardashian-Jenner‘s rep initially made a comment defending the star, the model herself is now speaking out via Twitter, saying she was “misrepresented.” Read the post below:

Kendall has spoken out previously about being a bit of an outcast in the industry since she grew up on reality TV and it’s true that even many models have said they don’t think she ‘earned’ her spot on the runway the way the others did. Unfortunately, it doesn’t seem like this most recent comment will make her any more popular among her peers.
