Lauren Jauregui Claps Back After Tiffany Haddish Disses Fifth Harmony At The VMAs
Uh-oh, do we have another celebrity feud on our hands? If you tuned into the 2018 MTV VMAs on Monday, August 20, then you probably saw Tiffany Haddish throw manjor shade at Fifth Harmony. She and Kevin Hart were cracking jokes on stage when she brought up Camila Cabello‘s nominations, but instead of poking fun at the “Havana” singer, the comedian had nothing but love for her (though she did totally butcher her name’s pronounciation). The same cannot be said about her former bandmates…
While Camila won big at the awards show, taking home a Moon Person for Artist of the Year and Best Video, the Fifth Harmony ladies were noticeably absent. “[Camila]’s nominated for five VMAs tonight. So for those of you watching at home – hi Fifth Harmony!” Tiffany said.

To say she ruffled a few feathers would be a complete understatement. Her joke was not well-received since Camila herself, who was once a member of the girl group, was spotted on camera shaking her head. Then, when Nicki Minaj came onstage to accept her own award, she put the host in check. “Tiff, don’t be coming for Fifth Harmony because Normani is that bitch. I’m just saying!” she said.
Normani Kordei later thanked the rapper on Twitter, writing, “@NICKIMINAJ I love you I love you I love you I love you I love you. You perfect queen you! Thank you for lifting me up. God is real. Now y’all know I love me some Nickiiiiiiiiiiiiii. Congratulations on tonight!!! Proud of you always.”
Now, Lauren Jauregui has also stood up for Fifth Harmony by clapping back at the Girls Trip actress one day after her remarks. She did so by posting an uplifting message on her Twitter account, stressing the importance of women supporting women.
“Waiting for the day when supporting one successful dope woman does not mean insult to other successful dope women. There is energy and space for us all to beautifully coexist and bless the world with our individual truths, stories, and talents,” she wrote.

As you all already know, Normani and Lauren were members of Fifth Harmony alongside Ally Brooke and Dinah Jane until the band announced its “indefinite hiatus” in March 2018. Most of them have all gone on to pursue solo careers, and thus far, Camila has been the most successful – hence Tiffany’s VMA shade. We’re sure Tiffany didn’t mean any harm (especially because she was reading the jokes off of a teleprompter), but still, it seems like Fifth Harmony didn’t appreciate the diss.
This isn’t even the first time shade has been thrown between Fifth Harmony and Camila during the VMAs. Last year, the girl group famously dissed her during their performance, which began with a “mysterious” fifth group member jumping off the set and falling to the ground. It was not subtle AT ALL and there was absolutely no questioning who it was in reference to.
Hey, maybe it’s time that everyone stops with the takedowns…
