Mac Miller Dies From Apparent Overdose At Age 26
This is so sad. Less than two months after Demi Lovato overdosed on drugs – and survived – it appears that “Self Care” rapper Mac Miller wasn’t so fortunate. TMZ reports that the 26-year-old died this morning from an apparent drug overdose. He was found in the San Fernando Valley by a friend around noon and sources say he was pronounced dead at the scene.
The news comes months after he and longtime girlfriend Ariana Grande announced their breakup last May. The pop princess made it clear that their relationship had become “toxic” and insinuated that his drug use caused their separation after he flipped his car during a drinking-related incident earlier this year.

Mac, however, said in July that he was happy for his ex and her new fiancé Pete Davidson. “We were together for two years. We worked through good times, bad times, stress, and everything else,” he explained. “And then it came to an end and we both moved on… I am happy for her and moving forward with her life just as I’m sure she is with me.” That quote is almost eerie now.
In the same interview, he said his DUI was a “stupid mistake,” but also a wake-up call for his reckless behavior. “It was the best thing that could have happened. I needed that. I needed to run into that light pole and literally, like, have the whole thing stop,” he told Beats 1 Radio. He was set to go on tour later this month to promote his newest album, Swimming that dropped on August 3rd.
