Pete Davidson spoke out about his split with pop icon Ariana Grande for the first time on Saturday night during his standup set at Largo at the Coronet in Los Angeles.

After cancelling a scheduled comedy appearance at Temple University earlier last week, the SNL cast member took the stage for “Judd & Pete for America,” a performance with Judd Apatow benefiting the national democratic organization Swing Left ahead of the Nov. 7th midterm elections.

Pete opened his set by addressing his recent heartbreak, joking that he clearly didn’t want to be at the performance because he had “a lot going on.”

“Does anybody have any open rooms? Looking for a roommate?” he joked, referring to the multimillion-dollar Manhattan apartment he shared with Ariana, which the “God Is A Woman” singer kept after the breakup, along with the couple’s emotional support pig, Piggy Smallz. Pete is currently staying with his mother in Staten Island where he was spotted three days after the split looking despondent.

Pete also referenced his six Ariana-inspired tattoos during the set: “I’ve been covering a bunch of tattoos, that’s fun.”

“I’m f*cking zero for two in the tattoo department,” Pete stated, alluding to his previous ex, Cazzie David, “I’m afraid to get my mom tattooed on me because she’d leave.”

He continued: “When me and Ariana first got engaged, we got tattoos. And it was in a magazine like, ‘Was Pete Davidson stupid?’ And 93 percent said yes. So my boy, he was like, ‘Don’t listen to that sh*t man.’ … And the other day we were in my kitchen and he was like, ‘Yo, bro. Turns out you were stupid.'”

Since the split, Ariana has been seen shopping at Chanel in Soho, dancing in the rain with friends, covering up her Pete tattoos and filming for the A Very Wicked Halloween special set to air October 29th on NBC. She also shared another sweet tribute to deceased rapper and ex-boyfriend Mac Miller on her Instagram Stories on Monday.

Pete and Ariana ended their whirlwind engagement only five months after Pete proposed in June. Pete is due back on SNL Nov. 3, and Ariana is focusing on her music and looking forward to her yet-to-be-announced Sweetener World Tour. We just want to hear about what Ari has to say about the breakup!
