As Riverdale‘s third season quickly approaches, we’re getting more details about one of the show’s most anticipated episodes – the flashback ep. It was previously revealed that the series’ younger cast would step up to play the teenage versions of their characters’ parents. This means that KJ Apa will trade in his red hair to play a young Luke Perry and Lili Reinhart will need to brush up on Mädchen Amick‘s role in Twin Peaks in order to fully channel her on-screen mom.

As you might already know, the episode, titled “The Midnight Club” (airing Wednesday, November 7), takes inspiration from the teen cult classic The Breakfast Club and will feature flashbacks to when all the Riverdale parents were in high school together.

Like we mentioned, KJ Apa is playing Fred Andrews, Lili is playing Alice Cooper, Cole Sprouse is playing F.P. Jones, Camila Mendes is playing Hermione Lodge, Madelaine Petsch is playing Penelope Blossom, Casey Cott is playing Sheriff Keller, and Ashleigh Murray is playing Sierra McCoy. Oh, and Mark Consuelo‘s real-life son Michael is playing a young Hiram Lodge!

Now, the hit CW series has made its most inspiring casting choice yet by adding original Breakfast Club star Anthony Michael Hall. He is set to play Principal Featherhead in the episode and joins former co-star Molly Ringwald (mini-reunion!), who plays the part of Mary Andrews, Archie’s mom, on the series. According to his character description, Featherhead is “the longstanding principal at Riverdale High who gets caught up in the game the teenagers are playing in an unexpected way.”

How perfect? Seeing the actor go from playing Brian in the original film to a principal stuck in the middle of whatever trouble the Riverdale parents-as-kids are in will be great! Though no plot details have been released yet, creator and showrunner Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa recently teased fans, revealing the episode will uncover a dark secret the parents have been keeping for years.

“We are going to learn about a really, really dark secret in Riverdale that the parents have been keeping since they were in high school,” he said at the network’s Television Critics Association press tour last month. “Throughout the years, we’ve talked a little bit about backstory and we’ve been revealing backstory slowly and periodically I will get a phone call from Mädchen, who’ll say, ‘Ok, I’m playing a scene and I know nothing of the context.’ So we talk about that stuff.”

To celebrate the casting and the upcoming episode, Roberto also released actual high school photographs of its adult stars. Can we please take a moment to take all these photos in? Look at their vintage hairstyles and ’80s style! Also, the superlatives are absolutely spot on.

Riverdale returns to The CW on Wednesday, October 10, at 8 PM ET!
