Once known as the wrong side of the Southen California tracks, Riverside is trying to shed its old image and rebrand itself as a foodie destination. Declaring the city “the most hospitable place in America,” the ‘burb is fifty miles from LAX but a world away in terms of Hollywood pretentiousness. A recent study showed that Riverside, San Antonio, and Orlando saw the greatest growth in the number of adults aged 25 to 34 (aka millennials) between 2010 and 2015, and boasts over 280 sunny days a year. Sunshine means good moods and open wallets, so this town is ripe for swanky lounges, experimental eateries, and other out-of-the-takeout-box ideas.
