This Game of Thrones Theory About Daenerys Will Shake You To Your Core

Daenerys Game of Thrones Theory

Cosmopolitan found this crazy Game of Thrones theory last night on Reddit, which is interesting because we assumed Reddit was a little too “nerd sits alone in his room” for the hyper-popular women’s magazine. Anyway, they hopped on that sh*t fast, probably because it might actually have predicted the dramatic ending to Game of Thones ahead of the final season premiere.

No, it has nothing to do with her (possible) unborn incest child popping out with webbed feet and taking over the world. With a shortened finale, the Thrones team probably won’t want to devote too much time to navigating how to keep the two hottest characters on the show in a relationship even though they’re cousins. marisaann26 is pretty sure Daenerys is poised to become the Night Queen *by choice* based on foreshadowing from season two. Daenerys’s vision saw Khaleesi reaching for the throne in a destroyed King’s Landing, only to abandon it in search of her crying dragons. When she finds herself in a tent with her husband, Khal Drogo (TBT) and their son, she leaves to find her captive dragons.

The beginning of this vision has already come true, when Dany puts aside her plans to take the Iron Throne by force to help Jon Snow Beyond the Wall. She then hears the dragons crying after Viserion is willed by the Night King and turned into an undead evil ice dragon. marisaann26 thinks the final piece of this puzzle will come together when Dany leaves Jon and their son to be with her dragons after they are all killed and turned by the Ice King. This will force Dany to join forces with the Night King and take the Ice Throne. marisaann26 also noticed the throne in her vision was covered in snow because it’s her *Ice Throne* and the music played during the vision is the White Walkers’ theme music.

Emilia Clarke told Vanity Fair that her final scene f*cked her up, “knowing that is going to be a lasting flavor in someone’s mouth of what Daenerys is and that Dany is doing really weird stuff.”

Joining the Night King definitely qualifies as “really weird stuff,” although some commenters on Reddit noted that the falling snow on the vision throne could actually be foreshadowing Jon’s place as the rightful heir to the Iron Throne and that the Night King clearly wants Bran, but that doesn’t mean Dany isn’t willing to betray her loved ones for her dragons. An old Thrones legend told a story of a Nightfort commander who fell in love with “a woman made of ice,” and they ruled together as Ice King and Queen. What’s the point of this story if not foreshadowing? Thrones is going to make some bold moves in its epic conclusion, so we’re not ruling *anything* out.
