Reigning Dancing With The Stars: Juniors Champ JT Church Gives Update On Friendship With Sky Brown
[the whisp EXCLUSIVE]
Less than a year after JT Church was crowned the first-ever winner of Dancing With The Stars: Juniors with his partner, Sky Brown, the 13-year-old professional dancer was spotted on the red carpet NYC premiere for High Strung Free Dance, a feature film with dance at its center starring Thomas Doherty and Juliet Doherty.
The pint-sized pro dancer spoke to the whisp and gave fans a much-needed update on his friendship with Sky since the finale aired last year — and his goals of getting back in the DWTS studio.
“The best part of the whole experience was meeting Sky and getting to kind of mentor her and be with her the entire way with Alan [Bersten]. It was just such an amazing time every week — we danced our hearts out. It was just a blast,” JT said about his time on the show. “Every week we would get super nervous but it all paid off in the end!”
Sky, who JT danced with all nine weeks of the show, is an 11-year-old skateboarder who’s training for the 2020 summer Olympics. When asked if he and Sky keep in touch, he said, “Of course! She’s super busy; she’s going to do the Olympics and stuff. But I love her and she knows I love her and I miss her so much.”
Since ABC announced that there will be no season two of Dancing With The Stars: Juniors, JT’s dreams of starring on the show again would have to be as a regular pro dancer on the adult-version of the show — which is airing its 28th season now with stars like Karamo Brown and James Van Der Beek. “I’m always watching the show and so it would be so awesome to go back [on DWTS].”
We hope to see JT back in the Dancing With The Stars ballroom soon!
