Dylan Sprouse Cast In After Sequel With Josephine Langford
Look out, Cole Sprouse, because twin brother Dylan Sprouse is coming to take your crown as “teen heartthrob” now that he’s been cast in one of YA fiction’s most popular book-to-movie franchises, After. The first film premiered earlier in 2019 and hardcore fans know that the book was based on One Direction fanfiction about Harry Styles. Naturally, it was a hit with teen audiences who were immediately begging for the sequel, After We Collided, to make it to the screen as well, and the sequel was confirmed in May.
The stars of the first film, Josephine Langford and Hero Fiennes-Tiffin, will be joined by the former Suite Life of Zack and Cody star to play Trevor, one of Tessa’s coworkers who develops feelings for the leading lady.
Dylan announced his big upcoming movie role on Instagram saying he couldn’t wait to bring the character to life — in slightly more embellished terms, of course. This big news comes just one day after the former Disney kid’s 27th birthday! They grow up so fast…
The author of the original book series, Anna Todd, also shared the news and she seems to be over the moon about Dylan Sprouse joining the cast.
After We Collided is in pre-production and is set to begin filming later this year. The OG flick was a box office success as it made nearly $70 million off of a $14 million budget. Though it was panned by critics, the audiences adored After.
Dylan Sprouse has said he would never join his brother on Riverdale but now that he’s about to become very, very popular with teen audiences… we could see that changing! We hope it will, at least.
