Kian Lawley Drops Song Clip He Wrote About Suffering From Anxiety

Kian Lawley‘s anxiety is no joke, but it’s also no secret. The controversial YouTuber has been open about suffering from anxiety on his YouTube videos and now, he’s talking about it in his music.

“Growing up as a kid, I felt alone. I felt unwanted. I felt like I was always in a dark corner. And most of my years as being a teen were taken away from me because of what is known as anxiety. Anxiety is something that many people in this world have to deal with day to day. And it’s not the best feeling in the world; it’s kind of hard to explain,” he once said on YouTube. Now, he’s trying to explain it with the power of music like Ariana Grande and Julia Michaels/Selena Gomez did before him. Kian dropped a 40-second clip on Twitter where he shared his lyrics and the piano tune, calling it “a song i wrote about my anxiety [sic].”

The complete song lyrics below:
It’s coming back
That oh-so-familiar feeling
It’s coming back

It’s saying hi
It’s like a friend but in the end, It’s foe
It’s saying hi
To me

It’s consuming me
It eats me from the inside out
Got ahead of me

I feel it now
The darkness is surrounding me
It’s killing me
To say

Kian has often been the subject of controversy. A few years back, pictures surfaced of him and Jc Caylen appearing to party with shirtless young women, and in 2018, his role was recast in The Hate U Give after a video surfaced online where he was using racial slurs. His part was given to Riverdale actor KJ Apa. He now holds a main role on AwesomenessTV’s Zac & Mia and has been increasingly vocal about the importance of speaking up about mental health issues.
