Netflix Announces Stranger Things Season 4 Is Confirmed
Were you feeling a little bit down on this Monday morning? Same here, but thankfully, we’ve got some news that will flip your mood right Upside Down (see what we did there?). Netflix has officially announced that Stranger Things is returning for a fourth season on the streaming platform and we couldn’t be more excited. The company revealed the return of the hit show with a 38-second long teaser on Twitter this morning. It doesn’t give much away, but we’re going to dissect it anyway. Take a look.

The tweet confirms that season four of the Netflix original show is on its way, with the clip simply showing “Stranger Things 4″ on screen before the words “We’re not in Hawkins anymore.” INTERESTING. Fans of the show will know that Hawkins, Indiana is where Eleven, Mike, Dustin, Will, Lucas, and the rest of the gang live. However, the teaser alludes to the fact that we can expect the new season to be set somewhere different entirely. Where though? The obvious answer to that question is in the Upside Down, however, we saw Joyce, Will, Jonathan, and Eleven pack their bags and leave Hawkins in the season three finale, so realistically it could be anywhere.
Another theory regarding where this season could be set can also be plucked from the season three finale. The final scene of season three takes place in a Russian facility, so season four could also take place there.
The news of the show’s renewal comes after fans expressed fears that the show would be cut after fan-favorite BoJack Horseman was announced to be ending earlier this week. Series star Gaten Matarazzo also concerned fans when he said in an Instagram live video back in August that they wouldn’t be filming in fall.

However, Noah Schnapp, who plays Will Byers in the show, posted this photo to Instagram in September, leading fans to believe the show would actually be returning, but filming would commence in January 2020.

He deleted the IG Story soon after posting, probably because it’s a spoiler! The series renewal comes with news that Stranger Things showrunners Matt and Ross Duffer, also known as the Duffer Brothers, have signed a multi-year deal with Netflix to create other films and series for the platform.
