Nicki Minaj Announces She’s Retiring & Starting A Family

After Nicki Minaj appeared to be making her comeback, the rapper has taken a U-turn to announce she’ll be retiring from music in order to start a family.

The 36-year-old celebrity announced her change in plans via Twitter, writing, “I’ve decided to retire [and] have my family. I know you guys are happy now. To my fans, keep reppin me, do it til da death of me, [ex] in the box- cuz ain’t nobody checkin me.”

Her loyal Barbz are in disbelief, responding things like “you’re kidding, right?” and “quit playing” to the tweet.

While she’s had a few successes in her most recent albums, she’s failed to live up to the hype that her albums Pink Friday and The Pinkprint set up for her. But this is a surprise considering she said her fifth studio album was on the way.

Her love life has been a source of controversy since she hooked up with Kenneth Petty, a convicted sexual predator. Nicki’s defended her man by saying he was young when it happened, as was his victim. Nicki and Ken have been all over each other since they got together in December of 2018. They recently got their second marriage license and she changed her Twitter handle to “Mrs. Petty.”

Only time will tell if this retirement is for real or another Justin Bieber-type situation. Also, are we the only ones who want to know how Nicki’s BFF Ariana Grande feels about this?
