DJ Pauly D & Vinny To Star On Jersey Shore Version Of The Bachelor
Network king of revivals MTV is reviving a late-2000s Bachelor knock-off and giving our favorite guidos their one chance to find love. Double Shot At Love is coming back with DJ Pauly D and Vinny Guadagnino starring in what was originally a Shot Of Love with Tila Tequila spin-off. After months of waiting, the women competeing for Pauly D and Vinny’s hearts have been released on MTV.com, and they’re as amazing as we could have ever hoped.
Like The Bachelor, MTV has deprived us of contestant bios, but in this case, a picture really does tell a thousand words. They range in ages from 22 to 33, which has the potential to be hella creepy considering Pauly D is 38 years old. Here’s hoping all of the 22- and 24-year-olds are here for Vinny’s heart.
These women don’t have much in common, but they do seem to share a love of Fashion Nova. Stars really are just like us.
Which one do you think is the Double Shot At Love contestant and which one is the Fashion Nova stock model?
Another thing these women all have in common is hair extensions that are definitely not human hair and a desire to date a Jersey Shore star, and we’re really not sure which is a bigger red flag:
Can confirm we haven’t been more excited for a reality dating series possibly ever. The OG Double Shot At Love concept was twelve men and twelve women competing for the hearts of the Ikki Twins, Rikki and Vikki Mongeon, bisexual twins from Shot Of Love with Tila Tequila. The winner, Trevor, was both twins’ choice but chose Vikki, who announced their breakup in the most 2009 way imaginable: via MySpace. We didn’t watch the original season, but it sounds like in order to avoid elimination, both twins had to agree on who to keep and who to send home, meaning the show is basically designed to have the leads fall in love with the same person. Devious and a sh*t show? Can the revival’s premiere come any sooner?
Clearly, the original Double Shot didn’t end with love, and Shot Of Love with Tila Tequila ended with Tila being rejected by her winner, so this might be the only dating franchise with a worse success rate than The Bachelor. MTV released a promo of Vinny and Pauly D giving out roses painted with the Italian flag in a clear parody of The Bachelor, in case anyone wasn’t 100% of what they’re trying to do here. On the bright side, Pauly D and Vinny are two of the only original Jersey Shore cast members who are actually Italian, so no one can claim false advertising.
Looks like this bromance is ready to trade in their Gym, Tan, Laundry lifestyle for some Gym, Tan, Love. The series premieres on April 11 on MTV, and we literally cannot wait.
