The Blair Witch Project came out in 1999 and tells the story of three students who travelled into the woods of a small town to try and get documentary footage of the Blair Witch, a murdering force who terrorized the town for years. The movie was one of the first ever to comprise primarily of “found video” footage and therefore had a tiny budget of $60,000. It surprised movie makers everywhere when it made $248.6 million at the box office and is, to this day, highly regarded in the horror movie genre.
