30 Movie Franchises That Started But Never Finished

Vampire Academy

The Weinstein Company

Released at the tail end of the vampire craze in 2014, Vampire Academy never spawned the franchise it intended. Despite the fact that it was directed by Mark Waters, the director of Mean Girls, and was written by Daniel Waters, the writer of Heathers, the film was slammed by critics, who thought that it was hokey and poorly acted. Rolling Stone gave it zero out of four stars. At least star Zoey Deutch would go onto find success in Netflix’s 2018 romantic comedy Set It Up.
