17 Lessons Spongebob Squarepants Taught Us About Life

Be Respectful of Other People’s Property

Spongebob Paint Bubble

In the episode “Wet Painters,” Spongebob and Patrick are tasked with painting the inside of Mr. Krabs’s house. The only instruction he leaves Spongebob is that he shouldn’t do anything to the first dollar he ever earned, which Mr. Krabs has framed. Things initially go well, but before long, the two of them have spilled paint on the dollar.

Spongebob and Patrick try to conceal the ruined dollar, but they ultimately fail. The lesson here is that they should have been more respectful of Mr. Krabs’s property. Of course, Mr. Krabs should also stop using his employees as free labor to do chores he doesn’t want to do.
