Rob Lowe’s career found a second wave of excellence in comedy television through Parks and Recreation and The Grinder, a series that was underrated (at least as far as Nielson analytics are concerned). It was because of the latter that The Grinder got he axe, but the meta law procedural struck a chord with critics who compared its big laughs, small audience dichotomy to Arrested Development and Community. The show followed Rob as a television actor who thinks that playing a lawyer on his long-running show means he can work for his family’s law firm IRL.
