And the award for the most random pairing goes to… The Andy Griffith Show and Star Trek. It’s weird to think that a show that was set in the galaxy would share a set with a show that was set in the quiet town of Mayberry, North Carolina, but it’s true. Star Trek aired between 1966 and 1969 while The Andy Griffith Show aired from 1960 to 1968. During that time, Star Trek took a few trips to Mayberry… or should we say the 40 Acres Studio backlot? One memorable scene is when Captain Kirk (William Shatner) and Edith Keeler (Joan Collins) stroll by Floyd’s Barber Shop. It’s the same one from The Andy Griffith Show.
