We look to celebrities for style inspiration on the daily. Our favorite outfits were ripped from the profiles of IG influencers, our #BeautyGoals are set by Selena Gomez and Kendall Jenner, so why shouldn't we be inspired by celebrity ink as well?
If you're trying to choose a style, design, or placement for your first (or next!) tattoo, these are the twenty cutest, coolest celebrity tattoos that we would totally get RFN.
Our queen Ariana Grande has forty-three tattoos we *know* about, but twenty-eight of those are from just 2018 and 2019 alone. This tiny moon behind her ear was one of her OG tats from all the way back in April 2015. Arianators know moons were a big motif during her Dangerous Woman era, and this celestial ink comes from the approximate time period Ari was writing that album. This tattoo also came during her relationship with her "moonlight bae" Ricky Alvarez, but it's cute enough that Ari chose to keep it, unlike most of her Pete Davidson tattoos.
Selena Gomez has been staying out of the spotlight, trading in public appearances with her famous BFFs like Taylor Swift for well-documented bonding time with her long-time fearsome threesome Ashley Cook, Courtney Lopez, and Raquelle Stevens. In honor of Courtney's 26th birthday, the Core Four got matching number "4" tattoos. This simple display of friendship is minimalistic and easily hidden, but a permanent memento commemorating a life-long friendship. Sel has been best friends with Courtney and Raquelle for eight years, she's been close with Ashley for thirteen years. Take inspo from Selena and her girls, and get matching BFF tats with your A1 day ones.

Like Ariana, Miley Cyrus has over forty tattoos ranging from reminders to "Be Kind" and logos representing her veganism or the Happy Hippie Foundation to random tiny symbols across her fingers and an illustration of a naked woman holding a baby. This avocado tattoo from Independence Day of 2015 belongs to the "random" camp, but the tiny colorful fruit (yeah, they're FRUITS!) on the back of her left arm can be a wonderful tribute to health and wellness, California, or just a pure, true love for avo toast. According to Miley's IG post about the ink, she just really, really likes avocados.
We're obsessed with YouTube beauty vlogger and IG influence Nikita Dragun's *ss tat for myriad reasons. Firstly, if your butt is stupid fat, you should absolutely put a bumper sticker on that Bentley, if only for the natural contouring possibilities. We also love that this "Dragun Tattoo," as Nikita calls it, is both a pun centered around her last name *and* a pretty bad*ss pop culture reference to the hyper-popular The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo book and film series. What can we say? We're a sucker for puns, and we cannot lie.
You didn't think we were only going to feature *one* of Ari's forty-three tattoos, did you? This website is at least forty percent dedicated to covering Ari's every move — you could say we're a little obsessed. Ari and her ex-fiancé Pete got their hometown area codes tattooed on their thumbs. Ari's ink is on her left thumb, and it says "561," the area code for Boca Raton. Whether you're in New York City's 212 or the San Fernando Valley's 818, area code pride is strong. Show that you're a hometown hero with a subtle tribute to your roots that's been Ari-approved.
Hailey Baldwin (or should we say Hailey Baldwin Bieber) debuted this teeny-tiny tattoo in February 2019, an elegant diamond behind her ear near where Ariana Grande placed her crescent moon. Hailey's ink came from the undisputed king of miniature tats, Jonathan "JonBoy" Valena. One adventurous Byrdie writer found the tattoo artist favored by Hailey, Zayn Malik and celeb BFF Kendall Jenner has a $300 minimum, and she was charged $450 for a two-inch sprig of lavender. Honestly, if a tattoo really lasts forever, you're probably better off ponying up some major dough for the best artist money can buy.

Demi Lovato is another tattoo-loving celeb, although not quite to the extent that Ariana Grande and Miley Cyrus like adding to their ever-growing collections. If you're on the fence about the "permanent" part of "permanent ink," a pointer finger tattoo is a great way to have your tattoo for a good time, not a long time. As we learned from Tana Mongeau's matching tattoo freakout video, tattoos on your hand just don't last as long as other body art and can fade away over time. Demi's delicate rose by Winter Stone was in celebration of her sixth month of sobriety.

Tattoos can be a tribute to something deeply meaningful that takes weeks (or even years!) to meticulously plan. But they can also be split-second decisions that end up commemorating a beautiful moment (or drunken mistakes that end up getting removed... nothing lasts forever!). If you're going to get a spontaneous tattoo because you're young, wild, and free, follow Shay Mitchell's lead and get some adorable ink from the tiny tattoo king JonBoy at Coachella Weekend One, the artistic center of the universe. We're guessing her inventive placement will fade like other hand tattoos, but it's subtle and adorable, and we kind of need one.
KROQ radio personality Jensen Karp described Drake's colorful tattoo of the pink flower emoji being pollinated by a bee as "something Drew Barrymore would've based a whole movie around in the '90s," and we'll be damned if that's not the aesthetic we're going for 24/7. Toronto Life learned this tattoo by Swedish artist Niki Norberg from 2017 is celebrating his More Life mixtape, as his company OVO Sound used the image during More Life's promotion.
Is that red dot *not* a mole? Kylie Jenner doesn't have many tattoos, but she does have the most of anyone in the Kardashian-Jenner clan. This tiny red heart was her first ink, which she debuted in 2015 on the eve of her eighteenth birthday party (because, in case you forgot, Kylie Cosmetics' CEO is only twenty-one). Four of Kylie's seven known tattoos are done in red ink, which is an adorable alternative to the white ink craze for those of us who aren't really into the in-your-face classic black lines but still want our body art to be visible.
If you think JonBoy is a big effing deal (which he really is), you need to check out Brian "Dr. Woo" Woo. He's so in-demand, the Los Angeles Times reported in 2017 that it's nearly impossible to find his studio without an insider hook-up. Zoë Kravitz, Cara Delevigne, Miley Cyrus, and Drake have all visited Woo's carefully curated universe and left with beautiful ink. Lucy Hale's gentle Gemini constellation (a nod to her astrological sign inked a month before her birthday) is thanks to the tattoo genius, and it's one of the most beautiful celestial designs we've ever seen.
Mira Mariah, better known by her IG handle @girlknewyork, is Ariana Grande's go-to tattoo artist, including the worker bee tattoo Ari got to remember the Manchester bombing victims. Not only is Mira a young mother (the artist is only twenty-six with a four-year-old daughter), she's also an amputee after a post-surgery staph infection led her to make the life-changing decision to remove her leg at the age of seventeen. The resilient artist gave Ari this sun and moon in her signature illustration style on the back of her hand, and it's simply beautiful. It's no wonder Mira has a massive waiting list.

Solange Knowles is cooler than the rest of us, which is probably why she ditched her last name. Icons don't need them. The "Don't Touch My Hair" singer visited the famed Bang Bang NYC studio for a minimalist design by artist Blvckwork. The tattoo is simple but genius — just a squiggly black line around her left bicep. What does it mean?! We have no idea if there was any rhyme or reason behind this art, but we know it's awesome both because everything Solange does it awesome and because it looks great. People thought Jackson Pollock's work looked pretty random too, and look where he is now.

Speaking of cool: This lightsaber actually lights up. IT LIGHTS UP. Zayn Malik has nearly fifty tattoos (including what we're collectively pretty sure are his on-again, off-again GF Gigi Hadid's eyes), but this tiny tattoo on his middle finger is probably his most interesting piece of body art. Did we mention it lights up? The tattoo from July 2016 is made with UV ink, not Jedi mind tech, which is notoriously difficult to work with and even harder to find. Zayn will only be able to show off this neat party trick under a black light, but it's impressive nonetheless.
Celebrities have to be getting some of these tattoos removed, right? Rihanna's twenty-five tattoos aren't as numerous as our famous friends who are sporting nearly fifty tats on the daily with no signs of slowing down, but it seems like we rarely spot all of Bad Gal RiRi's permanent ink. TBH, this massive neck tattoo is hard to spot in pictures because it's easily covered by clothing or hair, but the delicate curving stars are as magical as the Fenty mastermind herself. The tattoo (by Bang Bang NYC's titular Bang Bang) has evolved and grown over time, and it's so cute, we can almost forget that it matches her ex-BF Chris Brown's neck tattoo.

Another Dr. Woo original, singer Lily Allen got this delicate line drawing of the seven continents under her pre-existing symbols (that seem to be representing the world's religions, although we did think it was the Coexist bumper sticker for a hot minute), captioning her world ink "World inc" on Instagram. Although the two wrist tattoos complement each other thematically, we're particularly taken with Woo's world map work. The ink looks slightly raised, which gives the art a lively textured effect we heavily f*ck with. We're also big fans of her implied message of tolerance and equality, BTW.
Harry Styles has the most tattoos of any celeb on this list with a whopping fifty-two (and growing!). Honestly, by the time this article is published, he could be pushing sixty, and we'd all be none the wiser. Most of his artwork is pretty massive (That big*ss boat? The swallows?), but you might have noticed millennials are all about the little details, especially when it comes to their body art. The line-drawn guitar on the back of Haz's left arm isn't one of his most famous. It's hard to find and easily eclipsed by his larger pieces, but the whimsical drawing will resonate with any musician.
Remember how we mentioned that JonBoy has a $300 minimum? Yeah, that includes this little white dot on Kendall Jenner. Talk about a power play. We get it, Ken, you're richer than the Queen. Even if you choose to get your ink somewhere that'll charge closer to $50 for the tiny poke, this is a novel tattoo choice that will probably appeal to those of us who want to get matching art with our friends that we can actually see but don't fancy getting fired from our office jobs. Kendall's matches singer Harry Hudson and Joe Termini. Who will you get yours with?
Joe Jonas's tattoos are pretty stylistically similar. Artist Curt Montgomery gave the Jonas Brothers frontman and his fiancé, Game of Thrones star Sophie Turner, their matching tattoos, but we're partial to this '80s-influenced forearm tat by the typically racy artist. TBH, we see the racy vibes, because we'd love to repurpose this hand hand-drawing into a depiction of Ariana Grande fingering a hurricane from the "God Is A Woman" music video. Still, we're always down for a good ole hipster triangle, and anyone who's ever tried knows how difficult it is to do a good drawing of a hand. Color us impressed.
Hailey Baldwin Bieber may be the more famous of the Baldwin cousins, but this tattoo belongs to 30 Rock star Alec Baldwin and former Bond girl Kim Basinger's daughter, Ireland Baldwin. Ireland has a good number of tattoos, but this medium-sized drawing of a lotus flower is our favorite. The flower matches Ireland's Earth child vibes, and the lotus is one of the most sacred historical symbols because of the flower's nightly death and rebirth. The flower defies all logic (seriously, it's worth a Google), and it can hold strong symbolic meaning even in modern Western cultures.
